Mae POV

April has been missing for about four months now. It's August 25th, and I'm here hanging out with my boyfriend, Noah.

If you thought we'd break up over the summer, you're wrong.

We've done stuff we don't want to admit...

...late at night...

...alone.

I'm sort of glad April is gone.

I just hope she's not dead. I just want her missing. So I can spend all my time with Noah.

Our first day of school just ended. I already hate 9th grade.

April POV

"Happy one month!" I exclaim as I swim through Caz's door. I'm holding a pink bag in my hand.

Caz told his buddies a day after we started dating, and well, let's say that's how the secret got out.

Devan has finally introduced us to his girlfriend, a girl named Rebecca.

Rebecca and I talk a lot now.

Beckett is still painfully single, "and so is Zac."

Zac claims he's single, but Caz stole his phone and we saw a contact named 'Girlfriend.'

"Happy one month!" Caz cheered and kissed my lips.

The rest of 'The Crew' were with us. Devan had his arm around Rebecca, and the rest were  making gross noises.

Devan and Rebecca had their one year around the day we started dating.

We exchange gifts, and I take a seat next to him on the counter.

"Open it, open it," Zac laughs.

I let Caz go first. He takes out my tissue paper, to reveal my present.

If you didn't know, Caz is all about gadgets. So, respectively, I got him the Merphone 6.

"Aww yes!" He cheers, hugging me. I smile up at him.

  I open his present.

  A Merphone 6.

We both burst out in laughter.

"That's true love. Getting each other the same thing," Rebecca compliments. I flash a smile at her.

  "Thanks," I smile.

Beckett and Zac leave, since they are boring, so we decide to go on a double date.

"Where should we go?" I ask anyone.

"It has to be in the water. Rebecca isn't a landmaid," Devan smiles.

  "Wasn't my choice," she shrugged.

"Good. I don't wanna go out into land either. I'm sorta wanted since I ran away," I laugh.

"Let's go to Excelsa et peribunt!" Caz chanted. We nodded in agreement.

The Excelsa et peribunt is just The Coral Drop, in Latin of course.

We swam over to the restaurant. It was packed but had what looked to be, no wait.

Simply because merpeople could, somehow, change gravity, so they put tables on the top as well.

"How many?" The host asks. He's a fat merman with a bright blue tail.

"Four," Caz told him, putting an arm around me.

"Follow me," he says. He shows us to a table outside. I mentally thanked him for giving us a  private table.

The table was sectioned off by a wall, in its own separate room.

Two people could sit down below, and two could sit up top, and switch gravity.

"Let's go up top!" Devan and Rebecca say in unison. Everyone laughs, and Devan and Rebecca get seated.

"After you," Caz says, pulling out a chair for me.

"Thanks," I smile at him, sitting down.

He sits down across from me.

"So. Whatcha getting to drink?" He asks me.

"What is all this stuff? Oh, smoothies!" I exclaim, looking at the different flavors.

"Yeah, this place is known for its smoothies," Caz says.

"I've never heard of it," I reply.

"True. But you have been living here for five months now," Caz says.

"Touché," I laugh, causing him to follow in laughter.

I look back down at the menu. They had normal ingredients, such as strawberries and bananas, but then odd ingredients such as coral and seaweed.

"Is coral even safe to eat?" I ask.

"Yeah. It's actually filled with tons of nutrients," Caz explains. (A/N I don't know if it is so please don't eat coral ~Cherry101Bomb )

  "Oh," I say skeptically.

He nods and orders a strawberry seaweed coral smoothie.

I get a strawberry banana coral smoothie. Strawberry banana is my favorite.

I glance up to see Rebecca and Devan making out. I quickly look back down to see Caz smiling at me.

"They get a little into it," he laughs, explaining for Devan.

"What, no way," I joke. Caz snorts a quick, quiet snort.

The waiter brings around the drinks. I like this a lot better than just plain strawberry banana.

"I told you it's good," Caz said, slurping his drink.

"Whatever," I rolled my eyes. Devan and Rebecca quickly pulled away right before their drinks were served to them.

"They aren't usually PDA," Caz explains.

"I doubt that. I've seen them multiple times," I say.

  "Like where?" Caz asks.

"Somewhere named 'Lover Rock'," I say.

  "Oh no," Caz says.

  "What?" I respond.

"Other merpeople can only see people on the rock if one of them likes them," Caz says quickly, "So Devan likes you too."
