9: A Complete Mess

Naruto watched with mild amusement as the clone was pelted with numerous kunai, shuriken, senbon and other flying projectiles. 

Oh no, he actually found this entertaining.

Akihiko, the clone, managed to dodge most of the weapons, though some nicked him slightly. A few roots suddenly popped out of the ground, rushing towards the clone. At this point, Naruto felt that it was time for the clone to reveal the Sharingan. An inch away from the barrage of roots, Akihiko suddenly jumped out of the way.

When Zetsu made eye contact with the clone, he smirked triumphantly. Blood-red Sharingan rested in Akihiko's eye sockets, three black tomoe scoring each of the glowing red surfaces. Akihiko pretended to blink in confusion and looked around with a frown.

Both Zetsu said in unison, "You now have your Sharingan, which is fully matured. I think that you have already achieved it earlier. Before you forgot your own identity, that is."

"Really?" Akihiko mumbled, sounding dubious.

"Indeed," Kuro confirmed.

"I don't remember," Akihiko said truthfully. Naruto never had the opportunity or necessity to unlock the Sharingan. As he already had his Rinnegan, it only needed to be powered down to reach the Sharingan.

Of course, him having both the Sharingan and the Rinnegan did not mean that he could use the powers of both simultaneously.

Zetsu sent him a fake sympathetic look as he said, "It's alright. I'll be here for you from now on."

"What do I call you?" Akihiko asked.

"Zetsu-sama? No, too formal. Zetsu-dono? No, not suitable. Hmm... Just Zetsu will do, then," Zetsu decided.

"I understand, Zetsu," Akihiko nodded.

"Now, for your Mangekyō Sharingan," Zetsu muttered.

"Mangekyō?" Akihiko feigned confusion as he asked dumbly.

"It is the next level to the Sharingan. You have Senju heritage somewhere up in the family line, so there's a possibility that you will be able to ascend beyond the supposed highest stage of the Mangekyō," Zetsu disclosed to his latest 'pawn'.

"Highest stage?" Akihiko acted even more lost as he mumbled.

"The first stage is the normal Mangekyō Sharingan. After that is the Eternal Mangekyō. I will get you your second pair once we unlock the first one," Zetsu explained.

Shiro made a clone that went off to grab a random person to make into Akihiko's most important person. It did not take that long for the clone to find a random child, a homeless one from the state of her clothing, and bring her back to its master. Zetsu surveyed the brunette with hazel eyes before nodding approvingly.

"This girl is Misaki," Zetsu decided randomly.

"Misaki?" Akihiko echoed, actually very confused.

"She's your little sister, your imōtō. You will give her your love and care over the next few months," Zetsu explained, ignoring the girl who had poked the clone.

The girl blinked at the strange creature and said timidly, "Plant-man?"

Zetsu had to stop himself from glaring at the child as he said, "I'm Zetsu. Your name is Misaki from now on and your nii-san Akihiko will take care of you."

"Kazoku? Family?" the newly named Misaki asked hopefully.

"Yes," Zetsu said impatiently, "Akihiko is your nii-san, he's family."

The girl turned to Akihiko, with a shy smile as she greeted, "I'm Misaki. Nice to meet you, nii-san. I'll be under your care from now on."

Akihiko nodded, replying simply, "Of course. I'm Uchiha Akihiko. Unfortunately, I do not recall having met you before. Nice to meet you nonetheless."
