Graduation

"But Iruka-sensei, I'm telling the truth! I wasn't skipping class! I just tripped and ripped my pants and had to go home to put on a new pair, honest!" You said in an attempt to explain yourself to your sensei.

Iruka-sensei sighed in response, obviously not believing your story even though it was true.

"(YN), even if what you are saying is the truth you were still not only late to class but I found you with Naruto who also just so happened to have skipped class so that he could put graffiti all over the hokage mountain. Not only that, but you have a few paint splatters on your clothes that are vaguely similar to some of the yellow paint that Naruto used on the Hokage Mountain. Now to me that seems rather odd, don't you think?" Iruka-sensei said as he dragged you and Naruto through the hallways of the academy.

You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion at what Iruka-sensei said about the paint splatters on your clothes.

"What? I don't have paint-" You began to say but stopped short as you looked down at your clothes.

'Today is just not my day...' You thought dejectedly as you touched your hand to some of the dried paint splatters on your shirt. You then looked back up at Iruka-sensei.

"I know how this looks but it was honestly just bad timing."

"Yea, sensei! It was just bad timing! (YN) is telling the truth and besides, she only has paint splatters on her clothes because I ran into her and the paint can I was carrying spilt on her a little bit." Naruto quickly said in your defense.

"Alright fine. Let's say (YN) is telling the truth, it still doesn't change the fact that she is over 35 minutes late to class and because of that there will be consequences." Iruka-sensei said sternly as he opened the door to his classroom and pushed the two of you inside.

You and Naruto stumbled into the classroom with Naruto falling to the ground and you tripping a bit.
Once regaining your balance you looked around the classroom to see your classmates staring at the two of you.

'How embarrassing...' You thought as you tried to ignore everyone's stares. You then turned your attention back to Iruka-sensei who had already begun lecturing Naruto.

'Hmm...since sensei is distracted maybe he will forget about giving me my punishment for being late... if I want him to forget about it though I should probably try and slip back to my seat unnoticed. That way he will be less likely to remember since I won't be singled out at the front of the class anymore.' You thought slowly beginning to creep towards your seat while Iruka-sensei continued to lecture Naruto. As you quietly made your way towards your seat you listened in on what Iruka-sensei was saying to Naruto.

"I'm at the end of my rope Naruto. You failed the graduation test last time and the time before that. Tomorrow you get another chance to prove yourself and you're already messing up again!" Iruka-sensei said to Naruto. Said boy huffed in response to Iruka-sensei's lecture and turned his head to the side dismissively.

Iruka-sensei's eye twitched as he clinched his teeth together in irritation at Naruto's response. He then quickly stepped forward with his arm pointed out towards the class.

"Fine! As punishment Naruto, every will review the transformation jutsu!"

As these words left Iruka-sensei's lips a loud chorus of wines resonated throughout the room. However, you didn't sigh at what Iruka sensei said.
Instead a small smile formed upon your face.

'Haha it looks like Iruka-sensei forgot about my punishment.' You thought still smiling as the class began to get a little louder in their protests. It got to the point where some people were whining so loudly that they could be heard from the hallway.
