This is Cassie here. I agree with Nate's theory about who the ghosts were, but we still don't know WHY or HOW. And there isn't ANYTHING on Zachariah Doom anywhere. All we know is that he was the first warden of the town. The word warden though. It's capitalized. In the records it looks like this:
Zachariah Doom, First Warden of Doomfang
And the word warden raises questions. Why not police officer, or sheriff or something. The records say that the second warden was his son Benjamin, and the third was his granddaughter Katherine. After that it doesn't say anything about wardens or something. I wonder if Zachariah, Benjamin, and Katherine knew about the ghosts. I'm going to hazard a guess and say yes.
