Chapter 3

There was now one more day till I started work at my new job on Monday. I was starting to get that annoying excited yet sickly nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach. You know where your heart starts to beat really fast, then—BAM—I feel like the tornado from "the Wizard of Oz" was transporting Dorothy and her house to the land of Oz all within the confines of my poor stomach. Yet in this scenario, my heart is the house and the tornado is my impending future.

As of this moment, the moving guys were setting up the new furniture I bought for my apartment. I was currently in the kitchen, watching as they unpack everything for me, only asking for directions from me. I wasn't really sure what to do with myself as the workers refused any approach I made to help them. I even offered to feed them and they refused, telling me to go and rest as they take care of everything. So that is how I found myself idly drinking a cup of tea and looking at the screen of my phone, trying to urge it to do something so I have an excuse for my do-nothing schedule. I silently beg for something to happen, Come on, come on, this is so awkward, someone text me or call me! This is so awkward, I am so not used to this! As if my thoughts were answered, my phone buzzed, indicating a text. Quickly opening my messages, I see it is from Tae, I thought he would have done that whole wait three days thing before texting (at least something I was doing so as to not look like a crazy psycho), nonetheless, it made me really happy to see he texted me.

Tae: Hey, when do you start your new job?

Me: hey, I start tomorrow actually.

Tae: Ohh...did you want to hang out today?

Me: Yeah sure, but it'll have to be when the movers are done. Which they promise will be in another hour or so...

Not a second goes by before my phone pinged with a new text.

Tae: Great! So meet me at the park at 2 and we can go eat lunch together

Me: Alright, I will see you then J

Tae: I'll see you then! J Also there is something I need to talk to you about...

What does that mean? I think as I looked down onto my phone in confusion, but shrug it off. Maybe it's nothing serious, perhaps he wants to talk about his music? I reply instead

Me: Sounds good!

Closing my phone, I look over to the workers and see that they are almost done with their work and started to clean up. Looks like I will have time to get ready, of course I didn't care what I looked like in front of Tae... Lies.

I walked out of my apartment an hour later and locked the door, heading down the hallway to the elevator. Clicking the down button, I wait for the elevator car to reach my floor, I put my headphones on and start to listen to the music my coworker sent me. I was really starting to enjoy the whole kpop music genre with its fun beats and catchy lyrics, that I find myself humming to them. The elevator finally came and I head down and jam to my music as I walk through the lobby and outside to the street and right into someone's chest—both of us dropping our stuff and falling to the ground.

"Omo! Are you okay?" the voice says and grabs my shoulder to look me over, making sure I was okay.

"Uh yes, I'm okay—are you okay?" I look up to the person and find the cutest guy ever. He has dark brown hair styled in a side swipe, and the sweetest face and a mouth that reminded me of a bunny. Oh, wow, he is just too cute! He looked younger than me, so I stood up and helped him up. I grabbed my things and his as well, giving them to him. "Super sorry, I hope you aren't hurt" I look at him in concern "Oh! By the way, I am Roselynn" I stick out my right hand for him to shake in intorduction, but realized this is not a common thing to do here, so I put my arm back down and gave him a smile to cover the awkwardness I felt.
