CH 29

"Do you guys know each other?" Alyssa looks between me and the group of boys. I open my mouth to speak but am immediately beaten by the small body pushing through the mass of boys like he is parting the red sea.

"Yes, she does. She worked with this group during her training in South Korea" Lee looks at my nervously but has a steely look in his wide brown eyes.

"I didn't know that!" Alyssa exclaims as she looks at me shocked, my eyes return to her. "So, you can speak Korean?"

"Yeah...." I trail off as another body moves over to me, one that I befriended while during my stay.

"Noona, why did you leave so suddenly?" Jungkook looks at me with sad eyes. I look at the others as they all look confused besides for the ones that knew.

"Kookie... I had to leave..." I trail off as I had no other way to make it better. I did leave suddenly without warning, but I had to get away for more than just myself.

"But why? Why did you leave like that?" he persists and steps closer, his eyes steeled. I see both namjoon and Tae take a step forward.

"I—" I am cut off as a voice of one of my interns enter the rooms with the sole reason for why I left so abruptly.

"Rose, the daycare called that they needed to close for the day for some emergency repairs to the roof... anyway they dropped off Mason, so here you go" Eric explains as he carries in my son and hands him off to me. Overwhelmed, I just grab hold of him and watch him with a blank expression as he closes the door behind him and silence ensues.

"Idiot intern!" Alyssa's exclaims as she looks at me apologetically. "Want me to take him?"

"Uhh..." I look down and feel myself melt as he giggles and reaches for my face with his chubby little arms. Looking back up, I just hike him further up my side and look back to the group of guys. "I'm fine Alyssa, let's just get the conference room ready" she nods and heads out as I leave my eyes trained on the eight boys. "I hope you don't mind if he stays. I haven't seen him all day..." I trail off though I see that they all have wide eyes, well besides who the three who know who are just looking worried instead. I see that Tae has taken a step further but is held back subtly by Namjoon who has a hand on his arm. Tae just leaves his eyes trained on our son.

"Who is that?" Jungkook looks shooked while staring at my son's face.

"Uhhh..." I trail off, and clear my throat "he's my son" I softly reply as I pat his tiny back while he settles his head into my neck and watches the group of men with wide and dark eyes.

A chorus of confused sounds left their mouths, and I had to quickly try to cover my son's ears as their voices raise much too high. I glare at the boys, not noticing one move closer to me until he yells at the others.

"Ya! What are you doing?! You'll hurt his ears!" Tae's angry deep voice cuts through the noise of the others as they quickly shut up. They just stare with wide eyes and gaping mouths as they try to process the situation. Mason's head pops up when he hears Tae's voice and starts to wiggle in my grasp, his tiny hands grasping towards him.

Tae turns when he hears my movements, trying to hold onto our son so he doesn't fall from my grip because of his wriggling little body. Without thinking much about it, he immediately reaches out and takes him out of my arms. And as soon as Mason is in Tae's arms, he lets out a wide boxy grin that Tae returns. I lose my breath at the sight, they looked so much alike that it nearly brings tears to my eyes. They looked like mirror images.
