Chapter 40

I ran, I ran as fast as I can, I need to get away from there, I don't even know where I'm going. I just close my eyes and ran away.

After a few moment, I bump into someone

"Oh, are you alright honey?" I look up to see a girl, I think she's around 23 or so and is wearing...a little more then nothing.

"I'm sorry, I was in a rush," I said

"Oh, it's okay sweetie, everyone makes mistakes, some they doesn't mean to," she said and held out her hand.

"I'm Lofn I'm from Norway and currently visiting here and I'm kind of lost here, can you show me the way to the nearest town?" she asked, I took her hand

"I'm...Encre, nice to meet you and yes, I can show you, actually I'm going there now," and we talked the whole way back, she was really flirty but I think she's just joking...right?

"Here we are, I am staying here so if you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask me," I said and waved her good bye and went to bed, I rolled around for hours, I can see the sun coming up, must be 5 or 6 in the morning.

I couldn't stop think about what happened back in forest, everything happened so fast, I don't even know what's going on anymore!

I just couldn't take the image that's replaying in my head, Life's face, Lucifer, and that child, Palette...I got out of the bed and decide to take my mind off these by playing with the puppy for a bit.

It didn't help.

I couldn't get it out of my mind no matter what I do!

"Encre,"

I quickly turn around at that familiar voice. It's Fallacy, he's standing their with an book in his hand but I didn't see that at the time, I just feel fear and tears coming closer to my eyes then ever.

He started to say something but I rushed over and hugged him before he could finish it. I think he was apologising for leaving me alone but he soon realised I wasn't crying about that and asked me what's wrong.

"Fallacy, I'm scared. Lucifer is back" I said through my hiccups and he looks stunned.

He grabbed my shoulder and pull me away.

"Did he hurt you? Did he threaten you? What happened?!" he said, I can tell he's on the edge of shouting but held back.

I explained everything the best I can to him as he sat me down without pulling my own emotion into it. After I'm finished, he was very quiet.

"I'm sorry Encre, I should have been there, is that where you got all the cuts from?" he asked pointing at my bruises.

"Oh, no. He didn't hurt me, I got these from running to here," I said, trying to cover them up but I knew it's too late for that. He grabbed my hand and gently pulled me into the forest, I stopped him.

"I know you want to take me back but I can't just disappear without telling my friend where I'm going," I said, I thought I saw a flicker of anger in his eyes.

"That guard again? He don't need to know anything, let's just get going before Lucifer decide to check this place." he said and start to drag me along again.

"...He?...Fallacy, don't tell me even you though the same?" I said as I stopped him again.

"What? That he could put you in danger? That he can drag you into shady business? That he could be just using you? Yes, that's what I thought," Fallacy said.

I chuckled a bit, that didn't make him any happier then he is.

"Fallacy, you almost sound like you're jealous and no, I mean did you really thought that person was a guy?" I asked, now he's looking confused.

"You mean...that guard was...a girl?" he said and I nodded.

"A girl?! As a guard?! A captain of the royal guard?!?!"

I held back my chuckle as much as possible, how did the males didn't notice? She's kind, doesn't talk much, wore very pretty clothes...actually, now that I think about it, her clothes never had a gender label.

"It seems no one really know about it, but I guess you're right, she would really use me after all, I mean, she gave me clothes, home, food and company anytime I need and helped me out of any fight that could be coming my way. I'm sure she was dragging me into shady things and was using me for something," I said sarcastically

We both laughed for a short moment.

"Well, I guess I'm sorry for more then leaving you, will it be alright for me to stay with you here? If Lucifer is in there, I don't think its safe for me to go back," he said and I smiled with a quick nod.

"Oh! Good morning Encre!" I turn to the voice and found Lofn running towards me, she's still wearing such revealing clothes.

"Oh my, hello Sir, who might you be?" she suddenly said in a flirty tone.

"...Excuse me for my rudeness miss, but would we happen to met somewhere?" Fallacy asked

"Why I don't believe so, even if we did, I don't think you would remember me," she said.

"Why might that be?" Fallacy asked and Lofn posed dramatically and said;

"Because I am a beauty that art alone wouldn't be able to capture let alone one's memory,"

We all stood still wondering if she was joking or not. She suddenly start laughing.

"I was joking of course, unless you lived in Norway, I don't think you would have seen me,"

Even tho I can't see him, I can still feel him laughing to himself, planning a war, taking innocent life... I guess we can't cut this off no matter how long have passed.

We always know what each other is doing...
