You loved him.

He was the one person who accepted and loved you for who you are, with all your perks and flaws. He was the one who gave you surprise visits at night with Chinese take-out and your favourite rom-coms, no matter how cheesy they were. He was the one who gave you a golden Tiffany's necklace with the first letter of your name engraved on its circular pendant, which you haven't taken off since he got it for you while overseas.
He was the one you loved but didn't love you back.
It was during Jungkook's last year of school when you came into his class as an exchange student and you also met Seo Yoon, who happened to be in the same year as the two of you, just not in the same class. As time passed the three of you became best friends but you slowly started to develop a crush on Jungkook and soon you were in love.
Yet, instead of butterflies you felt stones in the pit of your stomach because he only has eyes for someone else, for Seo Yoon. Whenever you'd go out you'd play the third wheel. They barely paid attention to you, as if you weren't even there, as if they forgot about your presence.
That's one thing you had a lot of experience in and didn't like: being forgotten.
Sometimes you even made some remarks along the lines of: "Yeah, go ahead talk to each other like I don't exist!"
First you were mad about it, then sad, and then both but now you just felt empty. You felt the way they treated you, like you didn't exist.

You were walking through the district of Gangnam with Jungkook by your side. Gangnam was way too expensive for the two of you but you enjoyed taking walks there every one in a while. Today, you enjoyed it even more because of Seo Yoon's absence. You were surprised that Jungkook even invited you to go with him, especially without Seo Yoon, but you obviously didn't complain.

"So, how come you called me here yourself, especially without Seo Yoon?" you finally asked, your curiosity getting the better of you.
"About that..." he started, as if looking for words while scratching his head.
"I'm all ears." you said, somewhat impatiently.
"I don't know if you noticed, but I like her." he answered. Surprise, surprise.
"Oh believe me, I noticed." not quite hiding your sarcasm and annoyance.
"Am I that obvious?" he asked back.
"Yes you are." you simply answered, looking at your feet while walking through the busy street. You fought the urge about asking him the same question. If you were obvious about liking him. Because you were sure you were, he was just really, really, really oblivious.

When you first met Seo Yoon she was really nice. Tall, pretty, sophisticated and nice. Basically completely Jungkooks type. The only thing Junkook didn't like about her was her boyfriend, Taehyung, one of his close friends. Luckily for Jungkook, he broke up with her after a few months because she just wanted to get swept off her feet, not caring about who was doing the sweeping. Unlike her ex-boyfriend though, Seo Yoon didn't move on and tried everything to get him back. So you noticed that, and you weren't even sure if it was your jealousy or really her attitude towards relationships, she turned into a real bitch.
Taehyung didn't love her anymore but she wanted him back, which is why she is trying to use Jungkook to get him jealous and eventually get back together with him but little Jungkook was too innocent to notice.
She was aware about your feelings for Jungkook. I mean, who wasn't, except for himself. You were competition for her, so her liking towards you decreased quite a bit. But to be fair, it was a mutual feeling.
You couldn't even count the number of times you tried to warn Jungkook, who was way too in love to give a shit about what you were trying to say.

"I gotta go." you lied as the fresh air suddenly felt very stuffy. The feeling of your heart clenching really wasn't a feeling you liked. It's not like you really had to go or even wanted to go. You needed to go. For your own good.

"Why that all of the sudden?" he asked, with his eyebrows raised.
"I'm not feeling too well." how cliché.
"And I have a lot of school work to do." you added.
"Oh, well get better soon then." he said, not paying any closer attention to you. Not like he ever did.
