Barry sped into the lab at top speed. Cisco was pacing in the centre of the cortex, his face twisted with anxiety and stress. Joe stood by his side, trying to comfort the boy, but it was too late. Barry could see Caitlin through one of the open door ways, she was laced out on one of their hospital beds. Her chest was rising and falling softly, "what happened? Is Caitlin okay?" Barry demanded, he noticed a long trail of blood, leading from where Caitlin was residing and out of the cortex. Most of the blood was still glistening and jiggling with every vibration.
"Caitlin is fine, we haven't moved her, that is where we found her," Cisco informed Barry whilst motioning to Caitlin. He had forgotten his lap top in the lab, so when he came to find it he was greeted by the metallic smell of iron and a passed out Doctor, "but Sebastian is gone,"
Barry's stomach dropped, he looked outside, the sun was beginning to set. He had no idea what his brother was going to do. Barry just hoped he didn't hurt anyone else, "can you see what happened on security?" Barry asked. Analysing crime scenes was his job, so he was bound to be good at it.
"On it," Cisco chirped. Barry entered the small room that Sebastian had previously been in. One of the Windows was completely shattered and bits of glass was lying all over the place. Some of Caitlin's books were lying scattered across the floor. Barry made his way over to the bed and investigated the leather straps. They were completely ripped to pieces and the chains had been badly bent out of shape. That kind of feat would require a lot of strength. Barry had a few theory's, but nothing solid, "got it!" Cisco announced from the other room.
Barry made his way over to the computer and stared over Cisco's shoulder. The very first image seemed normal, but Barry knew better. He watched in horror as quite suddenly Sebastian's eyes snapped open. The light reflected off of them and caught the camera at a funny angle, it made his eyes look demented and eerie. He immediately sat up, the cuffs and the leather just snapped like they were made of string. His whole body randomly twitched and twisted, sending him flying over the edge of the bed and landing on a large container of laughing gas with a loud bang. Caitlin ran into the room and her face slowly filled with shock and horror. Sebastian's head snapped up towards her, he slowly stood up and raised up his hands in defence. Behind him the container was spewing out gas with a soft whizzing noise, which had no effect of the boy. Caitlin on the other hand, was immediately effected by the gas. She froze to one spot, her eye lids became droopy and she began to stumble around, struggling to stay awake. Sebastian caught on to this and with a lot of determination, he picked up the large container of gas and threw it clean over his head, out of the window. Barry was shocked at his impressive display of strength.
Caitlin collapsed to the floor. She was overcome by the gases powerful ability. Sebastian looked from the window to Caitlin, he checked his badly damaged, but still working, watch. It was clear that he was late for something because of the way sheer terror and panic took over him. He seemed to be caught in a major dilemma. He made a decision. He gently scooped up Caitlin and carried her off camera effortlessly. Cisco changed the camera angle to follow them. Sebastian proceed to lay her down on the bed and walk away. He only made it to the cortex desk. He let out a grunt of pain as he fell to one knee. He placed one hand on the ground. It was as though some invisible force had punched him in the stomach. Barry watched in terror as thick and dark blood began to seep from a Sebastian's mouth and ears. His face twisted in pain, but also clear determination, he began to drag himself across the floor. He was slow and clearly in pain, but it wasn't too long before he had completely disappeared off of camera, "okay, what the heck? I can't be the only one seeing that?" Cisco squeaked as he glanced at the bloody trail before turning to Barry and Joe for their opinion.
"He looked like he was really hurting Bar," Joe said more to Barry than Cisco. The cop didn't understand what was going on with the boy, but he knew it was bad. He just hoped Sebastian had whatever the heck was healing him under control.
"I know," Barry grumbled, "but Caitlin said he shouldn't be waking up for quite a while yet, so maybe his insides hadn't healed properly, or maybe he even ripped them when he lifted Caitlin or threw that canister," he thought through what had happened logically. It made sense. Barry's anger was still there, it still dwelled under his cool exterior, only his confusion and grief were much stronger now.
"That is very plausible," Cisco nodded, "but the real question is, where did he go?" They needed to find him before anything else could happen. Before he could hurt another person.
"Is there any way to find out?" Joe asked as he stared between the two boys, he could follow their conversation fine, but he knew if things technical then he would fall behind.
"Yes actually," Cisco smiled with pride, "Barry, Sebastian's phone is on my desk, can you get it?" There was a whoosh and it was in Cisco's hand. He was unfazed by this though, he was too used to it. He was also happy that Barry moved so quickly that even when he rolled his eyes it was undetectable.
He plugged Sebastian's phone into the Cortex computers and pulled up his files. He scrolled through them. There was nothing out of the ordinary, photos with friends, random internet searches and quite a few things Barry didn't want to see, but what was in his calendar made the searching worth while. He had a very specific reminder under that's days date. Before Cisco or Joe could tell him not to, Barry was gone.
