Steve beeped the horn one last time, "Mike!", he yelled, "Hurry up man I've got places to be!"

Mike scrunched his eyes up and took a few deep breaths in. He left the letters from Will on the floor of the bus and proceeded to walk out and make his way to Steve's car.

Steve poked his head out of the car window, "No scrap metal?"

Mike looked around him before answering, "No, it's all too flimsy"

Steve shrugged and opened the car door for Mike to climb in, but Steve was clocked onto Mike's body language so before starting the car up he turned to Mike, "What's up? You seem distracted"

Mike turned his head towards the window, "Nothing, it doesn't matter"

Steve, however, wouldn't fall for Mike's bullshit that easily, "Mike you're a rubbish liar, just like your sister"

Mike rolled his eyes.

"Come on buddy, is it to do with your friends?"

Mike shook his head.

"Okay, your family?"

Mike shook his head.

"A girl?"

Mike remained silent, and Steve smirked.

"Well, kinda, I'm not sure really" Mike sighed, "Just put the radio on"

Steve started up the car and turned the radio on.

"You know Mike, I've had my fair share of girl problems... and I'm guessing this is your first, or, um, second after El"

Mike turned to Steve, disregarding the mention of El, "Well I'm sorry not everyone can have your perfect hair"

Steve sighed, "It's not about the hair man, the key with girls is just acting like you don't care"

Mike furrowed his eyebrows, "Even if you do?"

"Yeah exactly, it drives them nuts"

Mike thought about what Steve said for a moment, to be honest, it didn't seem to add up.

"Okayyy... then what?" Mike asked.

"You just wait until... you feel it" Steve answered.

Mike was confused again, "Feel what?"

"Well umm, it's like electricity, before a storm, you can't see it but you can feel it"

Mike turned to Steve, "Electricity?"

"Yeah, sexual electricity, once you feel that - you make your move"

"Okay, I see, and you used this... advice on my sister?" Mike asked.

"Woah, Woah, Woah, no. No, I did not," Steve backtracked, "Nancy... Nancy was different."

Mike turned his head back towards the window, "I see"

"But anyways," Steve added, "Don't think about it too much, you're far too young to be getting into this shit - you don't want your heart getting broken, not at your age", Steve gripped the steering wheel, "Because that will probably mess you up for life"

.

You were balancing along the train tracks, jumping over a few of the beams, kicking up the gravel.

The light from the afternoon sun flashed through gaps in the pale trees, and every so often little robins would fly out from the shrubbery and do a little dance with one another.
