It was evening, a chilly and noiseless one. You and Will had gotten changed out of your clothes from the day, which now felt heavy with emotion, and switched into some more fresh, comfy and worn out clothes. You both agreed that it was best to get started straight away on trying to figure out and channel your powers. From this point on wards every day had to be used wisely.

The two of you patiently waited until Joyce and Jonathon were deep into their sleep.

As far as they knew, you and Will had turned in for the night - but what she wasn't aware of was the two of you climbing out of Will's window and cycling away at 11pm.

Your eyes were bleary from a slight tiredness that was starting to creep over you, to say it had been a long day would not even fill the description. Your right hand was still aching, and a grey tint remained covering your skin, but both your hands hung loosely onto Will's shoulders as he manoeuvred and swerved through the dark forest path.

You arrived at the scrap yard - it was hard to distinguish each looming figure from the next. Will reached into his backpack and pulled out half a dozen torches - he set them down on the bonnets of a few intact cars and switched them on. One after another, they illuminated a section of rough, beige, grass in the middle of the yard, right in front of where the bike had been dropped and where you were currently standing.

You were straining your eyes, trying to peer further and further into the dark around you both. You weren't looking for anything in particular, the point was you were trying not to spot anything, you didn't want to notice something that might make this whole venture a bad idea.

Will placed his bag down and turned to you, he spoke quietly, "Right, what's your idea then"

Smoothly, your head turned to Will, you left the bike and walked towards him, "I was thinking," You took off your coat, "we try and do what El does"

Will looked at you for a second, "She does a lot of things which one are you on about?"

You took Will's hands and led him to sit down on the floor, "Where she looks into that void, to see and find things"

The glow from the torches allowed a warm aura to settle around you and Will, "Okay, that's fair enough, but if we manage this, what does that do for us?" Will leaned back on his hands.

"What it does is it gives us a starting point to be able to calm and control ourselves, in order to enter wherever it is El can go. And once we get the hang of that, we can see into the Upside Down, and watch The Shadow Monster"

Will smiled, "I like it, yeah that sounds like this could lead us somewhere"

You nodded back to Will and smiled, "Doing this here as well is perfect because this is where El managed to get a hold of me quite often, I know the feeling of entering that place so we can try and recreate that. Plus it's dark, and quite, nothing to distract us"

"Yeah it's cold as well though" Will said sarcastically, leaning in.

You gave Will a playful shove backwards, "How do we start this then? What do we do?" He asked.

You took a breath in, "Hands on your knees, close your eyes"

Will nodded, their was a silence between the both of you for some time - until Will spoke: "Are we not just meditating?"

You opened one eye and slapped Will's knee,  "We've got to chill out first!" You whispered.

"Hey! Yeah that's definitely  chill behaviour"
