Sam Gray's POV

Just as I thought the day couldn't get any worse, the Defenders of Slugterra walked into Bonnie Springs Hospital.

As I heard my name being called urgently in the earpiece I attached to my ear, I zoomed down the hallways of the hospital, arriving into the lobby to see ten slingers in a god awful state.

Trixie's arm was wrapped around Alana as she tried to stand on her right foot, her left one mangled and broken. Scars and scratches decorating Alana's arms and legs, blood leaking down from a cut on the side of her head. Johnny fussed over Tiffy's wounds, his jacket tied into a sling around her neck, cradling what looked like her broken left arm. A woman in purple and black carrying another unconscious girl with vibrant blue hair and a girl with chocolate brown skin that matched mine using a long, purple blaster as a walking stick, her ankle bent in a grosteque way. Kord carried a raven haired slinger on his shoulder, his entire body riddled in cuts and scratches, a cut on his head, but Kord seemed in the best condition out of everyone.

"I need nurses and doctors at the lobby right now! We got Defenders in our lobby!" I ordered, and nurses and doctors quickly flooded the area, tending to the rest as I said a quick glad you're alive to Alana as doctors swept her away. I ran over to Kord, greeting him as we lay the raven haired slinger onto the stretcher as the new intern waited to pick the other side of the stretcher up, and I swore under my breath as I recognized exactly who it was.

"Junjie, you dumbass..." I muttered as Crystine and I bounded for a emergency room.

"Sometimes, I wonder how you're still alive." I sighed as I treated the wounds of the famous, mysterious Eastern Champion, who was so skilled, he came back with deep slashes across his chest, thankfully bandaged by a professional in such a way that the wounds didn't get any worse.

I swear, if that entire lot didn't have Johnny and his experince as a healer, they would be dead.

As I cleaned and stitched up the multiple slashes and wounds Junjie got from the humongous battle that the Shane Gang and the Defensores Antris had at High Plains Cavern earlier, miniscule pieces of bloodied, small pieces of Geoshard crystal lay on a metal container, shards of Geoshard crystal that I pulled out from Junjie's wounds, were the slahses were close to his heart.

"You can trust that I question that too, Sam." Junjie joked light-heartedly despite the situation that arose, and we both chuckled as I finished the slash I was working on, moving onto the next one, grabbing the tweezers.

"How do you even survive cuts this deep? I actually see the crystal, that's how deep it is!" I exclaimed as I reached into the cut, picking out Geoshard crystal from his chest. He was too weak for surgery to expose the rest of the crystal, so I stuck to picking out pieces, the surgery to remove the crystal due for next month. Junjie smartly retorted,

"I would apologize, however, the fault technically lies in the three men that shot their Thrasher ghouls at me." I rolled my eyes as I expertly took out another Geoshard Crystal from his wound, dropping it onto the metal tray. He would be fine, he just needs rest and some medication to control the growth of the crystal until the crystal was out of his heart. But if he kept on doing this...medication could only do so much.

"I still blame you for actually getting into the fight knowing damn well you weren't supposed to." I snapped back at him as I finished removing the shards of crystal, starting to stitch up the wound. He chuckled as he stared up at the ceiling, unable to do much else as he jokingly apologized,
