At the mess hall of the MOTHER OF INVENTION the Freelancers were celebrating their mission success. However, Vermont was the only one who was sitting at another table alone, thinking. York notices Vermont sitting alone
York: hey Verm!!
Vermont looks at York with a annoyed look on his face, in his helmet
York: come on over and join the party!!!
Vermont just looks away
Vermont: no thanks!!!
York: oh come on man!! Don't be like that!!!
Vermont: I'll be whatever the hell I want to be!!!!
York slowly sits back down. Wyoming shakes his head as he looks at Vermont
Wyoming: I guess he's not the partying type
York: I just don't know what his deal is
Wash: maybe he just hates us
York: that could be the case.
North: well, I think someone should go talk to him
Wyoming: wonderful idea old chap!
Wyoming gets up from the table
Wash: uh what are you doing?!
Wyoming: I'm gonna talk to him! I know a few good knock-knock jokes to cheer the lad up!!
York quickly grabs Wyoming by his belt and sits him down
York: yeah, as happy as I am that you're volunteering Wyoming, I think telling him knock-knock jokes would just piss him off
North: yeah I'd rather not let that guy get even more angry at us
York: well, either way, someone needs to go talk to him
Wash: yeah, someone should
Then they all look at York. York was starting to get the hint
York: me and my goddamn mouth
York gets up and walks over to Vermont
York: uh hey Verm
York gives a small wave but Vermont continues not to look at him
Vermont: go away
York: do you...mind if I sit next to you?
Vermont: yes...I do mind
York sits down next to him. Vermont sighs heavily
York: you really like being alone do you?
Vermont: it helps to know that there's no one to stab you in the back
York: come on man!! What will it take for you to trust us?!!
Vermont: I gave up on trust a long time ago
York: but why?!!
Vermont gets up and looks at York angrily
Vermont: because last time I trusted someone, I ended up getting shot in the back!!! I'm NOT making that same mistake again
Vermont leaves the mess hall with everyone staring at him. There was a pause for a few minutes
Wash: I think that went well!
Vermont was walking down the hallway until he hears FILSS in the training room
FILSS: round complete
Carolina: run it again FILSS
FILSS: restarting match
Vermont watches as Carolina continues training without sleep
