Getting more into the storyline here, but still much more to come. This chapter reflects drug use which is one of the reasons it's rated pg-13. So just a little warning(:

Chapter Six

I had survived my first day of classes and was already stressed out. After looking at the work I would have to do, I will hardly have any free time this year. Everyone was tired by the time dinner came around and after I went back to the common room with Idella. We were sitting up in our dorm room at our desks, getting a start on our homework and studying for our N.E.W.T.'s. Suddenly I felt the itch that appeared early in my hands was back, yet this time stronger. I stopped writing and looked down at my hands as they began to heat up. It felt like my hands were centimeters away from a massive fire. I dropped my quill and began itching them. "Bradley what are you doing?" Idella asked me with a confused, this time her face showed no sign of amusement. "You were doing that earlier."

"I don't know what's going on," I answered honestly. "It feels as if...my hands are burning. Just my hands." I got up and rushed to the bathroom, putting my hands under ice cold water. Idella followed me into the room. The burn wasn't going away under the water.

"Should I go get the nurse?" she asked unsurely.

"No," I said quickly. "No it's alright. It went away last time." Slowly, the burn began to fade and I pulled my hands from the sink. "Maybe it has to do with stress and nerves or something like that." Idella didn't look too convinced. "I can always ask my Medical Approach teacher."

"Yeah you should," Idella said. It probably wasn't that big of deal and would likely stop within the next few days.

A solid week of classes passed and finally it was Friday. Medical Approaches was most definitely a challenging class, but I looked forward to seeing Kent each day. It was nice getting to know him without having Grant interfer. We worked well together, plus he always had something funny to say. I never asked my teacher about my hands. They only burned once more after, but other than that the feeling had disappeared.

Selina was getting on my last nerve. Apparently we were partners up until Thanksgiving break so we were trapped with one another. She barely did any work unless she was actually interested in the species. Her annoying friends, Thea and Nelly, always came over to gossip with her. Sometimes they would even gossip about me while I was standing right next to them. "Did you hear that she went up to Grant and begged for him to take her back?" Thea somewhat whispered.

"At least thats what we heard Grant saying," Nelly added. I rolled my eyes and turned to them.

"You do know I can hear you right?" I snapped. The three looked at me carelessly and went back to gossiping until Professor Roberts separated them. Those two weren't even the worst of Selina's distractions. Cole Damiano was in our class and he was always distracting her. The two were sarcastic yet flirty towards one another. He would always pass by us purposely just to say something to her. Cole had an all around bad reputation. He rarely showed up to class, he was a player when it came to girls, he was an extreme partier, and to top it off he was an arrogant jerk. It was even rumored that his parents were somehow associated with the Death Eaters. Of course she liked him. Several girls did. I would never understand their stupidity.

Friday passed slowly and I was extremely tired after dinner. I was heading back to the common room just to read and relax when Charlie caught up with me. "Where are you going? It's a Friday night," he asked walking backwards to keep pace with me.

"Back to the common room," I answered. "I'm exhausted."

"Well wake up! Because there is a party tonight and we are going," he stated with a smirk. "Our Quidditch team is having a 'welcome back' celebration." Charlie was intense when it came to Quidditch. For growing up not knowing about the sport, he picked it up better than anyone.
