2017 was a good year.
BTS broke records and so did EXO.
Though even though it's been a fairly good year, it's been a difficult year at the same time foe K-Pop.
A female K-Pop idol got molested by Indonesian fans. There were fans trying to stop the molesters, but the majority were molesting. Of course guards were likely trying to help the girl, but likely were struggling.
SHINee lost their lead vocal Jonghyun to suicide and he wrote a suicide note to his sister saying something along the lines of: Tell me I did well, this is my last goodbye.
BUT, if you think about the good stuff:
BTS won the Top Social Artists award at Billboard Music Awards.
BTS has collaborated with Fall Out Boy, Desiigner and Steve Aoki and likely more to come.
Gay marriage finally became legal in Australia.
BTS performed at the AMAs and got recognized by a bunch of western celebrities who would love to collab with them.

Because Jonghyun killed himself, K-Pop fans opened a petition to get K-Pop industries to pay more attention to their groups and solo artists' mental health and the petition has over thousands of signs.
And more.
Sure bad things have happened, but that's life.
But even so, I hope the girl molested will be okay.
I hope the best for Jonghyun's fans, family, fellow members and friends.
I hope anyone suffering with depression or suicidal thoughts will be able to get the help they need.
And I hope 2018 will be even better than this year.
