Fortunately, I only have 8 weeks or less before Logan gets here. I cannot wait omg.

Nyla POV

I stand in the doorway of Maverick's den, watching him and Sky sway around the room to an old Elvis Pressley track. I couldn't help but smile at how beautiful their bond was.

"Take my hand, take my whole life too." They sang in unison. I shake my head, feeling my heart melt. "For I can't help falling in love with you." he spins her as she giggles. He then met my gaze, and if eyes could talk I'm sure there would be the sincerest of words coming from his.

"Mommy!" Sky yells snapping me out of what felt like a trance. I squat as she runs up to me.

"I missed you so much baby." I shower her with kisses.

"I missed you more Mommy." she giggles. I look at Maverick who was standing over us now.

"I hope you don't mind I let myself in because I could hear y'all through the screen door."

"Of course not. Plus, you're just in time to join me and Sky for dinner." He smiles. I freeze. I knew I should've waited but I missed my baby girl so much this week.

"You're eating with us?" Sky's eyes lit up. "I get to eat dinner with my mommy AND daddy?" she clasps her hands together batting her eyelashes with a smile.

I've been set up!

After sitting plates of smoked BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes, and macaroni in front of us, Maverick takes a seat across from me. The appetite I didn't even know I had was beginning to expand.

"Can I say grace please?" Sky says.

"Yes go ahead princess." Maverick says.

"Okay everybody hold hands, close your eyes and put your head down." she says sounding like my Mama. We all joined hands and bowed our heads, the minute Maverick interlocked our fingers I felt his thumb lightly stroke my hand.

"And thank you for letting me eat dinner with the best Mommy and Daddy in the world at the same time." Sky continued. I felt Maverick lift my hand, placing a kiss on it. I quickly open my eyes to see him staring back at me. He gives me a small smile. I couldn't help but smile back, shaking my head as I closed my eyes again. "Amen." Sky says.

"Amen." We say after her. As we began to eat a comfortable silence fell over us

"So how was your week with Daddy?" I ask Sky, taking a sip of sweet tea.

"Me and Daddy has so much fun!" She smiles looking at Maverick.

"I'm so glad you had fun princess." He smiles back at her.

"That's good." I smile.

"What did you do this week Mommy?"

"I went to work basically."

"You hang out with your friend Rob?" Maverick asks.

"Yes I did actually." I shrug. He doesn't respond.

"Daddy doesn't like when you hang out with Rob." Sky says.

"I'm sure he doesn't baby." I laugh a bit.
