XXXVII. Engagement Party (2)

When I wake up it's already early in the next morning, I found out that I am now inside my room.

How did I come back?

I tried to remember what happened but everything was blurred.

I knew I got angry at father because of the engagement after that I run away then everything was vague. I can't remember anything aside from running away. Why?

"Nyaaaa"

Luna who likes to pop everywhere jumps on my lap and adorably nuzzled his head to mine.

"Hey little one, where did you came from? You're always gone when I wanted to see you" I pout at her and gently rub her in my face.

"Come on; let's have a breakfast down there"

I eat my fills while feeding Luna on my lap. I was with my family but somehow, we eat in silence. I did not even greet father or Kyle when I saw them aside from mother. I am angry at both of them.

"Princess, where did you run out yesterday?" Father asked, breaking the ice.

I soft answered, "I can't remember"

He frowned, "what do you mean? I know that you are angry at me but... you need to tell the truth"

Are you also like Kyle? Who doesn't believe me?

"I really can't remember. I knew I run away to take a fresh air but the next thing I remember, I wake up inside my room"

Mother sighed and gently rubs my head, "okay, sweetheart. We believe you so don't be angry to your father, will you?"

I looked at mother and softly nodded at her before I continue eating.

I spend my day inside my laboratory, creating other types of medicine. Because I can now use magic, with the help and guidance of magic pharmacists, I can now create potion and elixir.

Since I created medicine, my parents decided to open up a pharmacy store for the final products as well as the medicine created by our pharmacists.

This kind of days continued for a week before mother announced something that I really don't want to happen, ever.

Five days from now was my engagement party with the crown prince.

When I heard about this, I cried again.

Why can't I marry someone I love and not someone I hates?

Mother also told me that tomorrow; William will arrive here to accompany me on my journey to the Capital since the engagement party will be held at the palace.

I shiver thinking about me and the prince together, alone? Uh-- I can't even imagine what kind of mess will happen between us.

Is it really healthy for us to be alone?

I grimace just thinking about those question and sigh

A famous tailor arrives this afternoon to get my measurement for the gown that I will wear in the party. I asked my parents if my friends are invited, they hesitated but then nodded at me and send the invitation to them.

I also learned from Jane that they accidentally overheard my parents and Kyle talking about my friends.

I was surprised when I heard about this and then nodded in understanding why my parents forbid me to go out with my friends. I thought they were just concerned since the royal tutor is here and all of us are under an intense lesson... but I was wrong.

Kyle talked to them and maybe convinced them that my friends are bad influence to me.

Kyle is really too much!

How dare he do this to me?

First, he doesn't trust me, then betrayed me, and now, this?!

I am really angry at him and no words can describe how I hated him now!

....but I made a promise to oniisama that I will not hurt or physically hurt Kyle since we are siblings and siblings don't fight

I took a deep breath to calm my mind and tried to forget what I heard from Jane.

I released my anger while fighting a dummy in front of me. Since I can't hurt Kyle then I'll think this dummy was my very own little brother and that hated idiotic prince, William as well as my stupid friend, Henry.

Because of that black star, Rosette everyone misunderstood me, and even my friend and brother started to hate me and distant to me.

How can she destroy my life with just her mere presence?

Is she that lovely for them to be smitten like this?

The next day, I was basking under the sun and smelling the fresh air when I heard someone behind me. I did not dare to look behind because I know it was either my parents to force me to greet the arrival of His highness or the prince himself.

"You really lack manners, aren't you Lady Valkhyne?" He coldly pointed out since I did not greet him when he arrives.

I closed my eyes and did not look behind. "Oh. Thank you for your compliment. That was the most wonderful praise about me that I heard in my entire life"

"You!" He was obviously enraged with my comment... but he still manages to calm himself, he really is a prince, huh.

I heard him take a sit while I was standing here doing nothing, just closing my eyes in the middle of the flowers. We're here in the garden to have an afternoon tea like what I always do whenever I wanted to enjoy the day... but it was ruin because of his arrival.

"I thought you're going to throw tantrum since we hated each other" he commented while taking a sip in his tea. He really is a thick faced huh, I did not let him to join me with my tea but he still manage to serve himself.

"I am not a stupid child like someone else" I said in monotone

"And who is this stupid child that you mentioned"

"I'm not sure, maybe... you?"

"You!" He, once again, anger by me. Two points for me.

I giggle at his reaction then look at him with my reserved smile, "I was actually thinking that our great crown prince will do everything to stop this engagement... the possibility for not marrying me, a trash"

He was shocked with my words since I can say that I am a trash in straight face then he cleared his throat, "the truth is, I am here to find you and talk about this... possibility of marrying you"

I exaggerated gasp and cover my mouth with my hand, "Oh dear, is the prince already fell on me?"

He glowered at me and coldly chuckle, "everything will happen but falling in love with you"

I gracefully take a seat then arrogantly look at him. "Then what do you want from me?"

".....To stop this engagement"

I gave him a smile, well, more like a smirk then crossed my arms. "And how do you think we will do that?"

He leaned on the table than seriously looks at me, "you're a friend with fairies, and then you can ask them to talk with my father. It will help us with this engagement"

I also leaned forward. "And why do you think I'll do that?"

He straightened up then confidently said, "Because I said so"

"Wow. I did not know you're that arrogant, your highness"

He proudly looks at me. "Unless... you like me"

I giggle. "I will fall to anyone but you, your highness"

He look... disappointed? But he still nodded at me, "then it is a deal?"

"Deal!" I did not hesitate to accept his hand and suggestion because....

I will never marry him. Period.
