Four

The day was finally over, Bio was weird but talking with Ed was kind of nice. I'm glad he's okay with me calling him Ed, or I think he is anyways. 'Don't get close to him you idiot. You're gone again in two years.' Walking outside the school I noticed that there was a lot of ice in the parking lot and I saw Bella just getting to her truck. Then there was a loud screeching, tires skidding. Tyler had lost control of his van and it was heading straight towards Bella. 

"Bella!" I screamed, she was scared stiff looking at the van. Then I noticed a blur of a person running towards Bella just as the van got to her. My eyes went wide once I saw Kyle jump over the back of Bellas truck moments later. Everyone in the school was running over to her aside from the Cullens and Hale twins. What the hell just happened? Was I the only one to notice the blur? I must have been, everyone is so worried about Bella.  

"Mia? Amelia?" A voice said as a hand lightly shook my shoulder, it was Ed. 

"How did Kyle move so fast?" I asked, my voice just barely above a whisper. 

"What are you talking about? Kyle was with Bella the whole time?" That's a lie, he and I both know that. 

"I guess we each have our secrets don't we then?" I said not looking at the teenager, my eyes still lingering on the truck and van. "I should call Charlie." 

"Okay." With that Ed left my side as I pulled my phone out of my pocket. 

"Hey kid," I said once Charlie picked up. "You're gonna need to get to the hospital, there was an accident at the school. ...... No I'm fine, it's your daughter that was in it. .... Yeah I'll meet you there. See you soon." The phone call had ended as soon as I got to my truck. "Breath, just breath." I muttered to myself as I started my truck and made my way to the place I've never been to before in my life. I mean, with the healing ability, I've never had to go to a hospital before. It was quick to find and the lobby was full of students who were worried about Bella. 

"Charlie!" I shouted when I saw him and ran over to him. "Do you want me to come with you kid?" I asked him and he simply nodded and we took off to where Bella and Tyler were. I understand why people hate the smell of hospitals, it made my nose wrinkle just because the smell was ten times stronger for me.

Once we got to the double doors Charlie nearly slammed them open. 

"Bells, are you alright?" Charlie asked his seventeen-year-old. 

"I'm fine, dad. Calm down." Once Tyler spoke I tuned him out, that is when a sweet scent came into the room. 

"I heard the Chief's daughter was here." 

"Good Dr. Cullen." Charlie said, well that answers my question. Dr. Cullen only looked about maybe five, maybe six years older than I did. I did look like I was twenty.  

"It would have been worse if Kyle hadn't been there." 

"Kyle?" Charlie asked, "Your boy?" I noticed the Dr. Cullen had said nothing and only looked back at Bellas charts.

 "It was amazing how he got to me so fast. He was nowhere near me." 'I knew it' I thought. Dr. Cullen simply smiles 

"As long as you're safe." 

"I have to go sign some paperwork. You better call your mom." Charlie said and what little color Bella had drained from her cheeks. 

"You told her?!? She- she's probably freaking." Bella said.

 "I'll stay with her Charlie." I said and he nodded leaving to go to the front desk. That is when Bella and I heard arguing, we both nodded at each other listening to the conversation.

 "What was I supposed to do? Let her die?" Kyle said 

"This isn't just about you, it's about all of us-" Rosalie said then Dr. Cullen noticed us at the end of the hall. He ushered Rosalie to his office as Bella wanted to talk to Kyle. 

"I'll just um, pretend to not listen." I said and walked slightly away. After Bella and Kyles quick little argument, the both of us agreed to figure out what was going on with the Cullens.

The next day at school was a field trip for the Biology class. 

"Make sure I get your permission slips." Magnolia said. I had parked my truck behind Bellas today as Charlie asked me to keep an eye on her this morning before he left for work. I noticed Ed and walked up to him, when he finally noticed me there was a small smile on his face. 

"Hello."

 "Hi Ed." 

"Hi, are you riding with us?" Alice asked 

"I dunno yet." I said as I heard Mike asking Bella to prom. She shot him down saying she was going to Florida. I also saw that Kyle was smirking at the same thing that I wanted to laugh at. Okay, that adds a third thing to the list, super speed and strength, now the same hearing that I have. They can't be mutants, not like I am. 

"Let's go people! Green is what? Good! Come on let's go!" Magnolia said causing me to roll my eyes. As I was walking with Ed, Alice and Jasper to the busses I froze and quickly looked around. Glaring slightly as I did so, I thought I could smell Victor, but there was no way he could have followed me and I never noticed is there?

 "Mia?" Ed asked as he looked back at me "What's wrong?" 

"It's nothing." I said looking back at him as I said that. "Let's just get this trip over with, 'green is what? good!' as if there isn't green everywhere." This caused Ed to laugh along with Alice and Jasper simply chuckled. "Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week folks." 

The drive to the greenhouse was bout half an hour, Ed and I spent the whole time talking. "Classical, you like classical?" I said looking at Ed in disbelief. 

"Yeah, why what do you like?" 

"Classical's alright, depending on the composition, but I'm more of a classic rock girl." I said and Ed nodded. 

"Okay, favorite color?" I asked and I got a 'are you serious' look from him. 

"Green, a sort of bright forest green." After that the bus finally stopped at the greenhouse, once everyone got off the two buses the tour began. 

"Looks like Kyle is talking with Bella again." 

"Yeah, looks like he is." 

"Hey Ed, do your eyes keep changing color or is it just the lights?" I asked

 "It's just the lights." I simply nodded going along with it.
