      The day you come into this world you're already judge not because you may be something great in the world but because of how you look and what gender you are. Being a woman is difficult at its best but being a little brown girl is plainly brutal. The world's mind was already made up while you were crowning out of the woman who has bared you for nine eventful months. She herself knew the pain that you were going to be faced as soon as the doctors announced, "It's a Girl!" She can do nothing but comfort you and love you unconditionally till her last breath. You yourself never expected to see how you can be treated because of the pigmentation known as melanin covers your best features. You could never imagine how others like yourself can criticize you just because you're a few shades darker, lighter, or in between. Pure ignorance at its best. Soon you will realize that it Is ok to love your sun kissed skin that god herself blessed you with. One day you will appreciate the roots that are connected to your dark luscious locks that are as thick as thieves. You are a diamond in the rough, willing to brighten anyone's day.
