When I Don't Remember You (Simon X Reader)

Chapter 13: It's No Dream

   You woke up to the smell of candy overpowering your fear. It was another one of those stupid dreams. Your vision adjusted, and you sat up. You were in a hospital with very bright colors. Why did it smell like candy?

   You looked down at your blankets. They were made out of a taffy-like substance. Weird.

   Then you began to panic. Where did Marceline go? Why were you in freaking Candy Land? You heard someone gasp from behind you. "Oh my globness, you're awake!" You turned to see what looked like an ice cream cone with a doctor's coat. You screamed. The doctor wrote something down on her clipboard. "Princess, the human's awake!" She called out.

   Then a pink lady burst into the room. You recognized her from one of your dreams. "Read the information." She ordered. "Y/N L/N." The ice cream began. "Found unconscious near an empty port, with a frozen ring slowing down her aging process. After investigation and experimentation on that ring, we tracked the magic to Ice King. Probably another one of his strategies to get a wife. Since we brought her here, we finally noticed some aging, mostly just in hair color."

   You gasped. "I don't know who this Ice King is, but I was engaged to Simon Petrikov!" The pink lady's eyes widened. "You're Y/N, the woman Simon mentioned in his tapes! Come with me." She said, pulling you out of bed.

   "Who even are you?!" You asked. She stepped outside the hospital. "Princess Bubblegum. Please call me Bonnie." She shook your hand, which was completely blue from the ring. You eventually reached a treehouse. "I hope it's still here." Bonnie muttered.

   She knocked on the door, and a teenage boy and his dog opened it. "Hey P.B." The boy said, and directed his gaze to your ring. "Oh no, Ice King's trying the ring tactic again?!" He yelled. Who was this Ice King everyone talked about? You shook your head. "No? This is an engagement ring, not something from this Ice King guy." You corrected.

   "Finn, she's Y/N. The woman in Ice King's tapes. Do you still have them?" Bonnie asked. Finn nodded. "Come in dudes." The dog said. What the hell was going on?

   A small game console walked next to you. "Hello new human! I'm BMO!" It said. Bonnie bent down in front of BMO. "BMO, where are the backstory tapes?" She asked. "It's already inside me." BMO replied. "Y/N, tell me if any of this is familiar." Bonnie requested.

   Your heart melted when you saw normal Simon on screen. He talked and talked, each clip getting worse. When it ended, everyone in the room looked at you hopefully.

   "Yep. That's my Simon. Do you know where he is?" You asked. Everyone exchanged worried looks. "Well, now he goes by the name Ice King. He kidnaps princesses." Bonnie sighed. "I'm so sorry." She looked at your outfit, and you realized that you were still wearing Simon's coat. You pulled out a piece of paper from your pocket, and revealed Marceline's drawing. "I'm going to go now. Thank you Bonnie, Finn, dog and BMO."

   You walked back to the candy place, the sweet smells brightening you up. The sound of a guitar was heard. Someone with a great singing voice sang about fries. She sounded oddly familiar. You were about to look at the guitarist, but someone grabbed your waist and flew you into the air, letting out an evil laugh.

   "Put me down you jerk!" You yelled. Your eyes met, and you began to cry because of what you saw. A man with blue skin, long white hair, and a crown. Simon.

   Simon flew you to a kingdom of ice, and threw you into a cage. "Simon, it's me, Y/N!" You yelled. He only gave you a confused look. "Who's Simon? Should I be jealous?" He asked. Your jaw dropped. "We were engaged! Do you not remember anything?" You asked while hitting your fists against the ice bars. "Engaged? Well that makes my job much easier." He muttered.

   You slid to the floor and cried the most you had ever cried. Simon had forgotten you. He had forgotten everything.
