He considered himself to be lucky as a boy to have his family.

And lucky enough to have her.

When she came tap dancing into his life, it was always full of adventure and awkwardness in between with his growing feelings of adoration for her.

It only grew when they had their journey through the Land of the Dead and found out the true reason why his great great grandpa didn't return home.

Now, as he sat beside his Mama Coco with his familia as they listen to her tale of Papa Hector and his life with them before he left, he couldn't help but remind himself that he had also left Angelita AND Dante for Ernesto's music.

Mama Coco sat back in her chair with a small smile on her face. For so long she had always wanted someone to listen to her stories of her Papa and now, her little mijo had given her more than just that.

"Mijo...Where is your friend? What was her name...Angelita"

Fear shot straight to him as he jerkily stood up and ran out of the house with his family calling out to him.

He had forgotten she was grabbed by her Abuelito and was forcefully dragged back to her house.

He could only hope they hadn't done something wrong to her like preventing her from seeing him again.

Or worse, they would move back to the states.

Once he opened the gates of his home, he saw her across the street with her family in a big circle, hugging her and thanking her and also grounding her for a week for leaving them without further notice.

He felt a pull once her eyes landed on him and a delighted about reached his ears.

"Miguel!, ¡Estás bien!"

She ran towards him with her shoes tapping against the concrete floor and tackled him on the ground.

The two of them laughed as tears poured out from their eyes. They made it, they did it and they had survived.

The two families could only watch in confusion but couldn't help but feel happy for the two.

"They're made for each other..."

Josefina, Angelita's Abuelita said with a smile.

Ah yes...

Miguel thought with a smile as he watched the two families grew closer to them with smiles on their faces.

He was lucky to have them.

Lucky to have her.
