Acceptance

One month has gone by since everything had happened, and I can actually say that I've come to terms with it. If you asked me that a month ago my answer would have been a whole lot different.  This past month I have been nothing but an emotional wreck, I was just numb, I couldn't do anything or feel anything, it's like my heart had shut itself down so it could heal. Over the month my family were extremely concerned about me, I wasn't the same to them, their fun-loving Skylar was gone, and what was left was an emotionless zombie. It wasn't until a week ago my mom finally made me see sense.

*Flashback* (1 week earlier)

I was sitting in my room, staring at the wall blankly. This is all I've been doing since I found out about Logan and Chloe, I mean what can I do. I'm not the same anymore and I don't think I will ever be again.

There was a knock at my door.

"Come in" I said faintly

It was my mom coming again with some food.

"Hey sweetheart, i brought you and sandwich and a bottle water. As it's been a while since you've eaten so I thought you might be hungry." She said

"Thanks mum, just leave it on the dresser." I replied

"Alright sweetheart." She said as she set the tray down.

"So...erm how are you Sky?" She asked

I didn't say anything.

"Sky come on now, it's been a month since it's happened and all you've done is wallow in you room feeling sorry for yourself." My mom said

"It's all I can do mom, I don't know what to do with myself and I know I said I would be strong for the babies but I don't know if I can, Logan was my whole world and he's betrayed me in the worst way." I replied

"Sky I'm sorry but I'm not having you be this way any longer, what happened to my strong independent girl? Who would not let anybody treat her or make her feel this way? You need to show Logan that you can do just fine without him." My mother exclaimed

"Mom I know you're right I just don't know."

"No Sky, I'm not having it, stand up!" She boomed

"What?" I questioned

"I said stand up Sky."

I got up and my mum stood me in front of my mirror.

"What do you see Sky?" She asked

"I see me, mom." I replied

"What do you see?" She repeated herself

"I see me, mom. What is the point it all of this?" I asked

"Do you wanna know what I see?" She said completely ignoring my question.

"Okay then, what do you see mother?" I said with raised eyebrows

"I see my beautiful baby girl who's lost her way, I see my beautiful baby girl who's had her heart broken. But I also see my strong, independent and courageous daughter through all of that." She said
