Chapter 12

His POV

I was walking in the forest when I felt someone's presence. Hindi ito ordinaryong presensiya. It seems familiar to me. I was on my way to my classroom. Ilang araw na rin akong hindi nakakapunta sa silid aralan namin. We've been away for our mission. Yes. We are sometimes sent away to do a mission. It's part of our education.

Nang pinuntahan ko ito may nakita akong isang babae. May lumapit na aso sa kaniya. It was blue. My sister's dog. Blue was licking her and she doesn't seem to care. She was about to touch him when I called blue. Mabilis na tumakbo papunta sa direksyon ko ang aso at tumalon sa akin. I was fast enough to catch him.

He licked my face. Sanay na ako rito. Blue had been with us ever since he was a puppy. He was found by my sister outside our house. Makulit ito. But he doesn't want to go to someone he doesn't know. Kaya nakapagtataka na lumapit ito sa babae kanina.

I saw the girl looking away. Napatingin naman ako sa building ng tumunog na ang kampana. Classes are starting. I need to go now. Habang naglalakad, pinagtitinginan nila ako. Dala dala ko pa rin si Blue. Maybe I'll just let him go in front of the field. Madadaanan naman ito. And blue is familiar in the academy. He knows where to go.

May mga tao pa rin sa labas. Papunta sa kanilang mga silid aralan. They were staring at me.

"Ang gwapo niya talaga, 'no?" impit na tili ng babae.

"Oo nga!"

"My Love!"

I didn't mind the comment they said about me. Hindi ko naman sila inutusan na puriin ako. Nakarating ako sa tapat ng classroom namin na walang emosyon sa mukha. Napakawalan ko na rin si Blue. He even attempted to follow me but I didn't allow him. I was about to open the door when someone touched my shoulder.

"Excuse me, I need to talk to you." Anito sa mababang boses.

Nilingon ko ito. "I have a class to attend."

"I've already excused you. This is an important matter."

I have no choice but to come with him. Naglakad kami papuntang office niya. This guy with me is the combat teacher. Pumasok kaagad kami sa kanyang opisina nang kami ay makarating. He offered me a seat. Umupo ako sa sofa dito sa opisina niya. Tumikhim muna siya bago umupo sa kaniyang office chair. I looked at him with a cold stare. He automatically sits straight and awkwardly smiled at me.

"So... the reason why I called you here is," he paused. "it is about your mission," he said. I just blankly stared at him.

Napansin niyang wala akong balak na magsalita kaya ipinagpatuloy niya ang pagsasalita. Ayaw kong pangunahan ito sa mga sasabihin niya.

"I think it's time for your group to stop your assigned mission. Wala paring bagong update about that. Months had already passed, pero wala parin."

"Why?" That's the only word I could ask. Tumingin siya sa akin na may bahid ng pagkalito ang mukha.

"As what I have said earlier, ipina-" I cut his words by talking.

"I know that it's not about that."

Magsasalita na sa ulit siya. Binuka nito ang bibig ngunit itinikom ulit at napabuntong-hininga. Bigla siyang tumayo at pumunta sa isang black na drawer at may kinuha.

"The truth is... the King ordered me to stop your mission." he finally said the truth. I was expecting this one. I know that the king would want us to stop this mission of ours. We have no progress at all. It's not because we're not good. We couldn't just decipher the clues. Hindi madali ang pinapagawa nila. This mission had been running for almost 20 years. And yet, no one solved it.
