REMEMBERING

We get in relations
with others
sometimes
And We let this consume us
We begin to care more
about their well being
Then our own
In a need to become one
We try to desperately examine
The person
We are with
Wanting to
Open up their brains
Their heart
Their body
Their soul
To taste and understand
Why we love them like we do.…
But then one day we wake up
And notice
We can't find ourselves
Between the
you and the me
Between the one

Something of mine
Was lost in us
In middle of the
Kisses
Hugs
The Indearing terms
We created for each other
I labored over
Our relations
Feeding the homeless
When I was not fed
Giving you
the crumbs of love
I could scavenger for
In my already
Scare cupboards
Labeled self importance
Self admiration
Self regard
Self CENTEREDness
I reached out to find
You
I reached out to see
You
But I could only see you
As much as I could see myself
We couldn't be whole
Because I was not one
with self
I wanted to gather us UP
And pull our strings
Together
Tying our shoelaces
In "syncly"
In to each other
But I had not first
Made amends
With my own
Spirit
Mind
Body
Soul
And heart
I realized
In the midst of me
Loving you
And you loving me
That I forgot
To love
myself…
