SOTD: DISCONNECTED BY 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER (AWESOME SONG MAN!!!)

"Get in the damn car, for God sakes girls!"

Mark was mad. It was obvious by the way he was stamping his foot on the pavement, awaiting us to get in the car. After yesterday's fiasco, he decided that he needed to keep a closer eye on us and the people we decided to be friends with. As if we would actually listen to what he had to say; what a dumb fake dad.

"I'm coming, I'm coming" London sighed running down the stairs, holding her maxi skirt so she wouldn't fall over. I rolled my eyes and slowly pulled my red beanie over my head and smoothed my shorts down.

"Shorts and a beanie? Am I the only one confused?" Nate grunted as I walked out the front door. I flipped him the bird, flashing a grin the moment Mark looked like he was about to scold me.

"Sorry, my finger slipped"

"Sure" Mark sighed and beckoned me to get into the backseat.

"Why does London get shotgun?" I whined elbowing Nate in the face...accidentally.

"You as~"

"NATE!" Mark yelled cutting whatever Nate was about to say off.

"Sorry, my elbow slipped" I shrugged with a wink.

"You better watch it" Nate fumed as Mark started backing out of the driveway.

"Am I supposed to be scared? Your ironed pants kind of ruin the whole thing for you"

"I should've let you get traded for granite and salt" he mumbled turning from me. It was pretty stupid since he was sitting in between Stephen and I, so turning away didn't really do much for him.

"You're so sweet" I smiled and plugged my headphones into my phone.

Once we got to school, I flew out of the car and away from Mark before I could be pegged 'the chick who drives to school with her daddy who really isn't her daddy but a specially trained FBI agent who actually sucks cuz he's never cracked a case'...or is that too long?

I made a beeline for my English class and grinned when I saw Penn sitting in his seat with an impassive look on his face.

"Woah, Penn, no need to look so excited" I mumbled sarcastically dropping into the seat beside him.

He just looked at me and looked away as if what I had just said was the dumbest thing on earth.

"Are you okay?"

"Fine" He said quickly adjusting the strings of his hoodie.

"Making a noose?"

He furrowed his eyebrows and slowly unwound a pair of headphones from around his iPod, plugged them in, and gave me a meaningful look.

Well damn.

NATE

I was jittery. Not because I was nervous about the pop quiz that wasn't really a pop quiz since we were told about it, tomorrow; I was nervous about seeing that girl again.

"Hey there" Her breezy voice sounded and I forced a smile out.

"Thanks again...for uh, yesterday" I turned to her as she swung her black bag onto the table and smoothed her long teal dress before sitting down.

"No problem...no girl deserves to go through Penn" she ran a hand through her blonde hair and busied herself taking out a notebook.

"From what I hear, Andrea mainly, he isn't that bad" Like I cared whether he was a good guy or not! I just wanted a reason to keep talking to her.
