Rainy nights and city lights

He didn't ask me questions.

He didn't ask how I had ended up in the middle of nowhere.

He didn't ask me why I hadn't taken an umbrella.

And, best of all, he didn't ask me if I was okay.

"You can just drop me off at the park, or something" I muttered staring out the window. I heard Evan's quiet laugh and could imagine him shaking his head.

"I'm not dropping you off in the middle of a park"

I only shrugged. We had been driving for what felt like an hour when I saw us going past a familiar store, "If you were planning on taking me home, you're taking me the wrong way"

"Who said I was taking you home?" he said as the car went over an unfamiliar gravel pavement.

"Where are we?" I asked looking up at the large white house we had parked in front of.

"You're going to make fun of me if I tell you" was all he said getting out of the car and looking to me to follow.

I followed him up the driveway and to the entrance of the house. He opened it with a swift turn of a lock and my breath was absolutely stolen upon seeing what was inside.

Here's the thing, there was nothing.

The walls were bare save for the tiffany blue drapes that cast a gorgoues glow on the stark white walls. The ceilings were incredibly high and there was a gigantic chandelier above us, in what I supposed was the foyer.

"Its empty" I muttered rubbing my arms as my body finally began registering how cold I was.

"That's the point. Come on" he awaited no response as he began jogging up the flight of stairs in front of us.

I tried to keep up and found myself staring into a bathroom.

"You look like a ghost" I almost smiled at that.

"Thanks, I appreciate it" I replied drily.

"You should probably get out of those clothes~" he face palmed when he noted the look on my face, "no not like that...I didn't, I'm sorry"

"I get what your saying...don't worry" I gave him a small smile and he nodded, stepping away from the entryway.

"Okay...okay, do your thing" he took a couple steps back and gave me a sheepish smile, "I'll be out here if you need anything"

The bathroom was large with granite counter tops and marble flooring. There wasn't a single product in the entire place except for a bottle of bath soap, a single white towel, and a bottle of lotion. Shrugging to myself, I shed my wet clothes and turned on the shower, reveling in the warm mist.

Once I was done, I actually contemplated putting on my wet clothes but then common sense kicked in and I realized that wasn't a good idea. A gentle knock made me jump back and Evan spoke,

"Here, I brought something for you to change into" I opened the door slowly and faced him with a small smile, accepting the small bundle of clothing he held forward.

"Thanks" I whispered as he backed away from the door again but not before I caught his eyes linger for a second.

I changed into the basketball shorts and hoodie he had provided, which were like three sizes too big, and stepped out into the hallway. There was a fork in the hallway to my right and I noted there was a light underneath one of the doors so, naturally, I walked towards it.

"Evan?" I knocked slightly and the door opened upon my touch. The room I was now standing in was the cutest thing I had ever seen in my life. The walls were a baby blue with clouds sponged all across and little sun stickers here and there. There was a Toy Story poster and a couple of Power Rangers all strewn half hazardly across the small table to my right, a twin sized bed in the centre of the room, and what appeared to be a play area that was marked off by a different colored carpet to the left.
