You're my princess (Revali x Reader)

Revali was awakened from his slumber by a loud and frightful scream. He quickly grabs his bow automatically and searches with squinted eyes for the enemy. After realizing that this screaming came not from a foe but his friend instead, he quickly lays the bow down again and inches closer to her. He awkwardly fidgets in his seat not knowing what to do in this kind of situation, nor knowing how to react. The best thing for now is to stop her crying and so he gently embraces her, petting her back in the process. (y/n) immediately latches on him laying her head on his chest. The soft feathers and his oh so familiar scent making her calm down after a while. "Sooo what happened?" the Rito awkwardly asks after noticing that the sobbing almost completely stopped. "N-nothing just a nightmare..." the images appearing yet again in her mind. She tenses up and loses her grip on the male. "Father... OH GOD FATHER! I NEED TO GET TO HIM! " she scrambles to her feet and starts running to the nearest entrance. Her wobbly legs not getting her far. She trips and lands on her knees with her arms shielding her face. "(y/n)!" Revali runs up to her and helps her up, but doesn't let go. The risk of her falling out of Medoh is too high. "Let me go! You don't understand, if I'm not getting to father as f-fast as possible e-e-everyone will d-die!" her shouting turning into crying. "Why are you so sure about that? From all I've heard your lands all good, nothing to worry about" "but I s-saw it in my dream. E-everyone... Even f-father... Oh GOD EVERYONE WAS DEAD AND I COULD ONLY WATCH REVALI! BUT I STILL HAVE TIME TO SAVE THEM! I STill- I still... I" Revali wraps his arms around her tall/small body. "It was just a nightmare. Nothing you saw was real. It's still very late. Come, your bed is waiting" (y/n) only nods and follows him back to her bed. She lays there rising and turning not being able to fall asleep after this event. The thoughts and 'memories' still filling her mind. Revali hears the turning and shaky breaths and can't take it any longer. His chest pains the thought of his best friend being in pain. He moves his blanket to (y/n) and wraps his arms around her waist. She visibly tenses up but soon relaxes from the calm breathing and light heart beat. She snuggles her head into his fluffy feathers and curls her hands on his chest. Both fell asleep feeling just right, like this was meant to be. But why would two best friends feel this way about each other? Who knows~

(y/n) was the first to wake up. The unfamiliar feathery view startling her in the process. She thinks back to want has happened last night and blushes. Revali didn't hug her once, not twice but thrice. And he's still doing it! 'Calm down heart, he's just my best friend. Nothing more nothing less. I kinda want to keep laying her with him though.... No, bad thoughts. Just stop you need to get up'. She tries to get out of his grip but fails. Letting out a defeated sigh she decides to shake her friend awake. He groans by the abrupt stop of his sleep and groggily looks at the (h/c). "Can you let go of me? I'm really thankful for the things you've done last night, but I want to put my clothes on soooo" "Sorry, I didn't want to have you run to your death while I'm asleep" he immediately let's go. (y/n) puts the warm covers away and gets up. Revali can't help but stare as the woman puts on her belt fitting her perfectly over the waist. He catches himself watching and quickly looks away, hiding the blush that's plastered on his cheeks.

Fwuuuosh the sound of arrows being shot can be heard through the whole forest. "I missed, again" frustration written all over (y/n)s face. "Your concentration is lacking. Something is on your mind. And I think I know what this might be" He walks over to the female and puts his wing on her shoulder. "You're thinking about that nightmare you've had last night. Tell me what it was about. Maybe after telling me you'll feel better." his concerned gaze meeting her unsure one. "I... I don't know." "Don't push yourself. Take your time" She sits down, right under the tree she's been shooting at for the past hour. Revali follows and takes a seat next to her. "I-i saw my kingdom in shambles. Everyone dead. I walked this path that lead me right through it. And at the end was my... My father. Or more specifically my father's corpse. On top of him the guy that harassed me when I was a child. He... He had a sword in hand that was pierced right through my father's chest. He noticed me and then... Killed me." (y/n) buries her head into the Ritos body, not wanting to see the world anymore. Nor let the world see her. Unable to say anything helpful, Revali just starts to stroke her hair. "It was just a dream. I promise once you're back you'll see everyone's fine and alive." now saddened by the fact that (y/n) has to go someday he lowers his head. He doesn't want his best friend, and maybe more, to go. He wants her here with him living a happy life. After calming down (y/n) gets on her feet again and takes her bow. Her hole body finally being able to concentrate let the arrow fly. It hits the ring right next to the bull's-eye. "See told you it was all about the concentration. You've gotten quite good. But still not as good as me the great Revali" his feathers puff up demonstrating his mighty. "Oh come on now of all times you had to get your ego up?" "Well that's just part of my character so deal with it." snickers Revali. "Well my day can't get worse now can it?" teased (y/n). To her dismay it starts raining just as she finished her statement. "You jinxed it. Hope you're happy with what you've done" laughed out Revali, not even trying to hide his laughter. "OK let's just get some cover before we're soaked and then freeze to death. It may be warm enough for rain now but once it gets darker everything will freeze. Come on" she drags Revali back to the flying range. The fire that is lit there is not bringing a lot of heat, it has to last for now. Fortunately some blankets are stored here. (y/n) starts stripping off her wet clothes laying them out next to the fire to dry. "W-what are you doing there woman?! Trying to seduce me or something? I know I'd try it too if I were you, but what are trying to gain from it?" "Not dying from Hypothermia. Now get me this blanket over there" he does so and tries looking away but glaces once over. There she stood trying to lay the blanket over her body. She must be freezing only wearing a sleeveless top and these panties. He quickly retorts his gaze. He doesn't want her to think he's a big creep watching her being half naked. And she is still royalty and he'd probably get killed if someone found out. Either way, he also takes off his dripping armour and sits next to (y/n). "Why do you act so casual about stripping in front of a stranger? Every person I know would be really embarrassed if they'd do it accidentally. And then there's you" "That could be because I'm used to it since a young age. You see princess's are not allowed to do things on their own. They get dressed, bathed and pretty much pampered their hole life. Even I and I was trained in combat and could be called a knight at some point. I am no longer capable of being embarrassed by showing my naked body to people. Now how about you. Your sitting naked in front of me and don't show one bit of embarrassment." stats (y/n). Revali quickly covers his chest and crotch. "You pervert! How could you stare at me handsome body!?" jokingly shouted Revali. "Hahaha, you sure you're not cold? Wanna get under my blanket it's really warm~" "W-w-what!? N-no! I'm fine as I am thank you" a strong icy wind riffles his feathers up and he shivers in return. After considering the offer again, he finally gets under the blanket and snuggles up to (y/n), sharing their warmth. Time passes and soon the rain stops the clothes now all dried up and the training continues.

After about a week of getting the hang of a bow, a messenger appears bringing a note from princess Zelda. It reads:

Dear Champion Revali and Princess (y/n),

I hope your training has paid of. I want you, (y/n), to come to Eldin as fast as you can. We're going to search for a shrine that is said to be located somewhere in this area. We'll be waiting for you in Gorone city. It's rather unfortunate that Revali can't come with us. I do hope to see you soon at the annual Hyrule dance! May your paths be always filled with luck

P.S: (y/n) be careful, Eldin is the hottest region in Hyrule and needs special clothes for some parts to be accessed, a normal heat repelling potion does the trick too!

With irritated eyes (y/n) looks over to Revali. "Why can't you come with me? I don't want to travel alone through all across of Hyrule again. It was scary sometimes you know." pouts (y/n). "Is my dearest (y/n) requesting my presence? I'm so sorry but I just can't go to that place. It's so hot, my feathers burn off. Not even the strongest of potions helps. Ritos just aren't made for the heat." "Well too bad. I've read about some hot springs there. I thought that we could relax in one together" She winks in a teasing way and doesn't notice the huge blush forming on Revalis cheeks. "I have to pack now. Let's go Revali." "M-me? Do I look like some kind of servant that follows you everywhere? I still have some businesses left to attend. I'll meet you at lunch time on my landing place, got it? And don't be late." He left running of to who knows where and (y/n) is left with preparing for her journey yet again on her own.
