David and Liza

Chapter 9

Lizas pov:

I wake up and last nights memories flood back into my mind making a smile curl my lips. I pick out my outfit for the day and my usual makeup. Rachel appeared at my door
Rachel: I can't take you to school today
Liza: why not
Rachel: I'm meeting Kirsty and we're going for breakfast
Liza: fine I'll just get the bus
I slip my bag on my back and unplug my phone off charge. I call goodbye to my parents and run up to the empty bus stop.
I climb in and not many people are on, I walk to the back row and sit in the corner with my earphones in. We finally get to school and I rush out the door to get away from the shouting teenagers behind me. I see Gabbie and Corinna across the parking lot and speed walk towards them.
Gabbie: hey little brown girl
Liza: hey gobs
David catches my eye as he walks past, we make eye contact he gives me his classic smile and I blush looking down at the floor.
Corinna: who you looking at?
She looked over her shoulder trying to find who it was.
Liza: nothing, I was just thinking about something
Gabbie: what you thinking about?
Liza: uh...
What am I supposed to say?
Liza: just someone I like
The bell rung and I turned my back on them to go to class
Gabbie: hold up! Liza?!
Liza: what?
I couldn't help but giggle as the chased behind me.
Corinna: liza, you can't say that and leave
Liza: but I just did
I said walking into my classroom a smile on my face. I could feel them rolling their eyes behind me.

Timelapse: lunch

David's pov:

I sat on our usual table and the rest of my friends came and sat around me.
David: no girls today?
I said with a small chuckle.
Scott: no, they're sat at their table I think
I caught eyes with Liza as she sat with her friends and couldn't help but give her a small smile. I look back down at the table, I slowly look back up and notice all the boys staring at me.
David: you good?
Zane: why are you smiling at A Koshy?
David: I wasn't
Todd: well you were either looking at her or one of our girls?
David: I wasn't looking at anyone
Alex: we're not blind David you looked directly at her
I was lost for words, I have no idea what to say or anything I can come up either to tell them.
Heath: baby look, if you like her we're all cool with it of course but...
Zane: it's your parents we're worried about
Alex: if they found out...
David: I know I know
Scott: so you admit that you like her
David: I never said that
Todd: he isn't denying it
Alex: should we call her ov-
David: No!
Heath: you like her
He said nudging my shoulder slightly and raising his eyebrows
David: ok fine, but not a word to anyone, you all know my family would kill me
Zane: okay not a word
Heath: pookie it everyone
(Pookie is the vlogsquad promise word, you can't break a pookie btw)
They all repeated the word pookie. Oh shit now they know, well they don't really know everything.
The bell rung and we all stood up for class, I walked along side Alex to our calculus class.

Timelapse: end of school

Lizas pov

I spot Kristen outside of school waiting at the gate
Liza: Kwisten!
Kristen: hey L
Liza: who you waiting for?
Kristen: just Scott
Liza: ok I'll wait with you
I stood beside her and watched the door as people streamed out. I spot Scotty but David's walking beside him. We slowly walk over to meet the two guys. Kristen leaps onto Scott and hugs him and they peck on the lips. I stand opposite David and avoid eye contact, I can't help but kiss him every time I look into his eyes. Kristen gives me a weird look as I look at the ground then her face changes when she realises David is stood opposite me.
Kristen: who were you waiting for Liza?
Liza: Gabbie asked me to go to Zanes
David looks up at me his eyes widened
David: me too
He murmurs, I feel someone gently hold onto my shoulders from behind. I spin round and see Brennen.
Liza: hey Brennen
Brennen: hey L, me and some other guys are going to grab some food, you wanna come
Liza: thanks but I'm going out with Gabbie
Brennen: ok, offers always there, text me?
Liza: uh sure
Brennen: ok bye L
I wave awkwardly and he smiles before going back to his friends.
Kristen: didn't know you were friends with Brennen
Liza: I'm not, we were sat next to eachother in history
I look over at David and he's glaring at Brennen walking away but relaxes and gives me a small smile.
Scott: there's Gabbie
He says pointing to behind David.
Liza: bye kwisten
Kristen: bye wiza
I hug her goodbye and give Scott a quick hug too. I get to David and we walk beside eachother towards Gabbie who's on the other side of the long path into school. We stand beside eachother but not very closely.
David: he called you L
Liza: yeah and?
David: that's what I call you
Liza: other people call me L that's my nickname
David: no your nickname is Liza, I call you L
Liza: Kristen called me L earlier
David: it's different, that's Kristen
Liza: so it's just because it's a boy
David: n-no
Liza: you're jealous
David: I-I'm not just...
Liza: you so are
I start to smile looking up at him as we walk along side eachother.
Liza: you don't need to worry about Brennen bubs
I cover my mouth as his nickname slips out
David: no one can hear us don't worry
I drop my hand and a small smile finds my lips.
Gabbie: sup lil brown girl
She jumps towards me and hugs me. Zane stands behind her and gives David a bro hug.
Liza: so why am I going to zanes?
Gabbie: I wanted to hang out
David: then why am I going?
He asks Zane.
Zane: I wanted to hang out
Liza: can't you hang out with eachother
Gabbie: not without our bestfriends
I give her a weird look but decide to go. If I get to be with David longer than usual then it's so much better.
Gabbie drives me and David takes Zane to drive to his house, we both pull up at the same time. We wander I side and leave our bags at the door.
Liza: so what are we gonna do here?
Zane: just hang out, watch a film, just random shit
We all sit on the sofa and talk, I obviously avoid talking to David otherwise Gabbie and Zane could find out our secret. Gabbie jumps from her seat and grabs her bag
Zane: where are you going
Gabbie: I forgot I needed to get my sister, can you take me I don't have any gas
Zane: uh sure
He grabs his keys off the side and they both go for the door
David: what about us?
Zane: we won't be long
Gabbie: sorry
And with that they leave, my eyes move to David and his move to mine.
David: I hate pretending I don't like you
Liza: me too
I shuffle over to the other side of the couch where he is sat.
Liza: I hate not being able to talk to you most of the time, and how if we do talk everyone ends up staring
David: I know it's difficult, but we will find a way through it
He grabs onto my small hands and gently squeezes them. I just look into his dark eyes that I fall in love with every time I see, he leans forward to kiss me when me phone starts to ring.
Liza: it's Brennen?
I answer as David watches me
Liza: hello?
Brennen: oh hey L, I'm just a bit bored wondered if you could talk for a bit
Liza: I'm busy right now sorry
Brennen: it's fine bye
Liza: bye
I hang up and put my phone back.
David: what did he want?
Liza: he said he was bored and needed someone to talk to
David pushed himself onto his feet and starts walking back and forth around the room.
David: he likes you
Liza: so what if he likes me?
David: come on Liza, we can't even be seen talking to eachother in public
Liza: what are you saying?
I stand up and edge towards him
David: I know you would prefer to be with someone you don't have to pretend to hate, that your parents can know about, not having to sneak out every night
Liza: stop saying this, I want to be with you I don't care about my parents catching me because I get to be with you, so what if we can't go public, so what if I sneak about, that's what makes it exciting sometimes. And it's all worth it because I get to be with you
I cup his cheek in my hand, he holds onto it as I hold his face.
David: don't you want more
Liza: maybe, but I need you
He lets go of my hand and brings his hands to my face, he pulls his head towards mine and smash our lips together. I smile into the kiss and stand on my toes moving my lips against his.
David: I love you Liza
Liza: I love you too bubba
We're interrupted by the jiggle of a key in the door, we jump back onto the sofa and pull our phones out.
Gabbie and Zane walk in removing their bags.
Zane: did you just sit on your phones the whole time?
Gabbie: obviously not Zane, look they've switched sides on the couch
I glance at David realising our small mistake.
Liza: he went to the bathroom and I got a snack, we accidentally switched
Zane: k then
He comes and sits in the large gap between us with Gabbie.
Gabbie: so Liza I had a thought
Liza: tell me
Gabbie: this morning you said there was someone you like, and now you're suddenly friends with Brennen.
She nudges me raising her eyebrows
Gabbie: he obviously likes you lil brown girl
Liza: bu-
Gabbie: and you two would be cute together
I feel hot and stressed as the word leave her mouth, David's gonna feel... I don't even know he just won't be happy! I look up at him and I can see a change in his eyes.
David: um... I have to go
Zane: how come?
David: don't worry, just family you know... uh bye
He quickly grabs his bag and leaves not looking back.
Gabbie: that was weird, do you know what was wrong
She turns to Zane.
Zane: I have an idea, one second
He rushes after David and we can hear him calling his name. I sigh and sink deeper into the couch
Gabbie: do you know what happened?
Liza: nope
Of course I know what's wrong!
Liza: I'm gonna leave too
Gabbie: why?
Liza: my mom asked me back
I rush out the door after grabbing my bag and slipping it onto my back. I hurry past David and Zane and speed walk up the road.
I finally make it home and run up to my bedroom. I check my phone and the only message I got was Brennen. I fling myself onto my bed and sigh. I go and get changed into pyjamas then cuddle up before falling asleep.
