Chapter 14

Lizas pov:

Friday morning:
The last day of dreaded school then only two more till I finally get to atleast see David.
Schools finally ended and once again I'm being a third wheel waiting for Gabbie and Zane to be finished so we can go home.
Brennen: you look lonely
Liza: I'm being a third wheel again
Brennen: I'm here, hey I say you running out of the cafeteria on tuesday are you okay?
Liza: yeah I just miss someone
Brennen: the boy
Liza: yeah there's been some problems so I haven't been able to see him
Brennen: I'm always here, do you wanna grab a coffee and talk about it?
Gabbie: L! Me and Zane are gonna go grab something to eat so I'll meet you at home
Liza: sure
Brennen: looks like you're free
Liza: let's go
Brennens telling a story and I zone out because I can't help but feel guilty just being sat here. Just because I miss David doesn't mean I can go out with someone else even if t just a friend. And now I'm probably leading on Brennen I have to leave
Brennen: liza? Did you hear me
Liza: sorry I zoned out
Brennen: you alright?
Liza: yeah I just have to get back to gabbies
Brennen: oh I can drive you if you want
Liza: I'll just Uber
Brennen: no I insist
I didn't bother arguing with him and let him drive me to gabbies.
Liza: thanks for driving me and thanks for the coffee see you next week
Before he can say or do anything else I run into gabbies house.
It's empty because gabbies still out. I feel so guilty and I don't know if I should be. I sit at Gabbie desk and try and focus my mind on homework until she gets home.
Gabbie: ahem
I turn to see Gabbie stood with her arms folded
Gabbie: Zane spilled the tea about what happened with you at my parents bar
Liza: what happened? I don't remember half that night
Gabbie: you started crying about David
Liza: I did?
I swing my head back in the chair and sigh
Liza: yeah Carly said that I told her about him too
Gabbie: Carly knows?!
Liza: yeah but she promised she wouldn't tell
Gabbie: I'm never letting you get drunk again otherwise you'll end up telling your parents
I laugh a little and go back to trying to focus on homework
Gabbie: where did you disappear to after school
Liza: I went out for coffee... with Brennen
Gabbie: you went on a date!
Liza: it was a mistake I felt lonely third wheeling with you and he offered but I was only there for like 20 minutes and quickly get guilty and left
I say as fast as I can trying to give her my excuse
Gabbie: are you gonna tell David?
Liza: what's there to tell I got coffee with a friend
She gives me a look
Liza: I don't want him to see it the wrong way, he already gets upset about Brennen
Gabbie: okay
