David and Liza

Chapter 16

I pull up to school with Gabbie in her car and Zane greets her at her door.
My eyes fall in David and a smile forms on both of our faces. Gabbie and Zane are leant up against her car their tongues down eachothers throats so I make my way over to everybody else.
Liza: hey guys
Kristen: L! Hi
She jumps and hugs me
Liza: someone's excited to see me
She peels away from me and the school bell rings.
Timelapse: end of school

We all meet at the gate and a few people go home leaving just me, David, Gabbie, Zane, Kristen and Carly. We decide we want to go to Starbucks so we start to walk away from school.
Brennen: hey Liza! I had fun Friday we should do it again sometime!
Shit! Shit! Shit!
I glance over to David who's glaring back at me.
He starts to turn off to go behind Starbucks grabbing my hand as he passes me and taking me with him.
David: what happened on Friday?
I can tell he's trying to stay calm because he's probably got so many ideas of what happened Friday going through his head right now.
Liza: um...Brennen took me out for coffee
I murmur just about loud enough for him to hear.
David: you went on a date with him!
Liza: bub-
David: why the fuck would you go on a date with him! Was I really gone for that long you just decided to leave me?!
Liza: David...
David: what could you possibly say to defend yourself, you went on a date with another guy just because you hadn't seen me in over a week!
Liza: I'm sorry I-I
I begin to cry as he shouts at me, his eyes soften when he sees me cry but it's as if I can see him remember what I did.
David: Liza... why did you go on a date with him
He made no eye contact with me and I could still see the anger in his eyes.
Liza: I was third wheeling with Zane and Gabbie and he came and spoke to me and asked me if I wanted to go at this point I was so lonely so I said yes. After being sat there for about 20 minutes of him talking and me zoning out constantly from thinking about how wrong it was I instantly left
I managed to stutter through my tears and calmed down a little.
Liza: I felt so guilty afterwards
David: why didn't you tell me when it happened if you felt that guilty
Liza: because I was scared you'd react like you just did
David: why wouldn't I?! You're my girlfriend and you went on a date with another guy
Liza: it wasn't really a da-
David: you know if he's that great of a guy then why don't you just date him
He turns his head away from me, I hold onto his cheek but he still resists making any eye contact
Liza: because I love you bubba
David: I'm gonna go home I'm not in the mood to hang out anymore
He pulls out of my grip and turns to walk away.
Liza: David
He carries on walking as I keep calling out his name more tears pouring down my cheeks.
Liza: baby please!
I cry, he stops and I see him close his eyes as if he's trying to hold back tears. I run and latch onto him before he walk off.
Liza: I'm not letting you leave Not again
David: Liza...
Liza: I can't even handle going a day without seeing or hearing you I'm not gonna let you go
Liza: I love you too much to see you walk away from me, I made a mistake and I admit it and I feel so guilty about it but I only made that mistake because I was lonely and desperate to see you. I was going crazy without you and as soon as I sat in that seat I knew I had to get out of there
Liza: please don't walk away from me because of this one mistake
He takes a deep breath and finally makes eye contact with me.
David: I forgive you...
He says ever so quietly, my face lights up and I wrap my arms around his torso pulling him towards me. I bury my head in his chest and speak through my tears as fast as I can.
Liza: thanks you so much, I'm so sorry bubba I really am I love you and I don't want to see you walk away from me so quickly, I promise it won't ever happen again
At first he didn't even hug me back but I feel his arms slowly slip around my small body and he hugs me tight.
I look up at him the tears slowly coming to a stop. His hand holds onto my cheek and he runs his thumb runs along my cheekbone.
David: I love you too
I jump up onto my toes and press a kiss to his lips, at first he doesn't kiss back. He kisses me back and intertwines our hands, my other hand holds onto his neck desperately trying to keep him close. When we pull away my head falls back into his chest I feel him kiss my curls and I start to tingle inside.
David: what's the time?
Liza: it's 6
David: meet me tonight?
Liza: where will we go?
David: your beach?
Liza: okay, I'll tell Gabbie, what time? 
David: 12
Liza: that means I have to wait six more hours
I whine, he gently kisses me once more leaving me with a smile.
David: I have to get home before my mom gets too suspicious
Liza: okay, I love you bubba
David: I love you too L
He kisses my forehead and we peel away from eachother. Next thing I know he's gone, I come out from our hiding spot and go to find my friends inside. I quickly find them but go to the bathroom to wash my face first. I go back out and Gabbie notices me and calls me over to the table.
Gabbie: how did it go?
Liza: it was bad but I think we're good now, he's picking me up tonight by the way
Gabbie: what time?
Liza: 12
Gabbie: why so late?
Liza: he has to hide from his parents too
Gabbie: oh yeah
Everyone says their goodbyes and me and Gabbie head home.
