David and Liza

Chapter 17

Lizas pov:

It was coming up to midnight and I was already dressed for the beach. I wore very little makeup incase we end up in the sea. I'm sat on gabbies couch waiting for his text when I hear a knock at the door.
Liza: David?
David: I figured that it's gabbies house I can actually pick you up now
I gave him a soft smile and kissed him on the cheek.
I shouted goodbye to Gabbie and walked out with David to his car.
I was sat inbetween David's legs as we laid staring up at the stars.
David: L?
He shuffled a bit gesturing for me to sit up.
David: you need to go back home
Liza: we've only been here for thirty minutes do-
David: no liza I'm mean back home with your family
Liza: David... you know I can't go back there
David: you cant hide from them forever it'll only make them more suspicious
Liza: but... we won't be able to see eachother as often
David: we made it before we can do it again
Liza: I just don't want to face them
David: if they found out you ran from home because of me that would make our situation even worse
Liza: they wouldn't
David: I still think you should go home, gabbies parents will be back one day
Liza: but-
David: Liza please just go back, for me?
I give him a smile and kiss him gently.
Liza: okay I'll go back
David: thank you L
I nuzzle back down into his chest and watch the waves crash. Sadly David has to go back home, he had asked Ester to message him if he's parents woke up and she saw the bedroom light turn on.
David: I'll see you tomorrow, I love you
Liza: I love you too
I kiss him once more before walking into gabbies house.
Gabbie: how did it go?
Liza: you stayed up?
Gabbie: I wanted to see how it went
Liza: I'm going home tomorrow
Gabbie: you are? How come?
Liza: David persuaded me
Gabbie: isn't he a good influence
Liza: that's why I love him, I'm gonna head to bed I'm exhausted
We both went upstairs and climbed into bed falling asleep.

David's pov:

Liza texted me his morning to say that she's going home after school. I pulled up in my Tesla and saw Scott and Heath stood in our spot.
Scott: hey Kristen told me about what happened yesterday
David: did she see?
Scott: no only you walking away, how are you two?
David: we're fine we met up last night and talked and everything is fine
Heath: what's this about?
David: um... Liza went for coffee with Brennen last week while I was gone and I found out after school yesterday
Heath: oh
He just looked at the floor starting to feel awkward
The bell ring and everyone had already showed up for school.

Timelapse:
I was sat in the living room on my phone with Ester when I got a call from Liza in tears. I ran up to my room to answer.
David: what's wrong?
Liza: can you meet me? At the cliff?
David: of course
Liza: I'll be there in five
And she hung up I grabbed my keys and only said that I was going out and Ester had probably guessed where.
I pulled up to see Liza leant against the fence still with tears in her eyes.
David: baby! What happened?
I quickly pulled her into me and she cried into my chest.
Liza: I went home, and my parents weren't angry they said they were glad to have me back and that my grandfather had died last night while I was gone
She carried on crying and I didn't know what to say or how to react.
David: oh
Liza: what?
David: nothing, I'm sorry
She looked at me confused still crying.
Liza: I just told you my grandfather died and that's your reaction, no sympathy
David: I'm sorry but... I can't
Liza: what do you mean?
David: I'm sorry that he's gone but I can't be sympathetic for him
She instantly let go of me in anger
Liza: what?!
David: Liza... I'm sorry but you don't know what that man did to my family, to my parents, he's the reason that we can't tell them we're together. He was a selfish man.
Liza: that's my grandfather you're talking about
David: baby i'm-
Liza: don't call me that! I'm gonna go, come find me when my boyfriend is ready to talk to me not whoever this is right now
David: Liza don't-
Liza: save it Dobrik
Then she ran, I didn't bother going after her I know I've upset her even more. I tried but I can't be upset that the man is gone.
