David and Liza

Chapter 13

Lizas pov:
Tuesday morning I'm already up and dressed because I woke up at 5 because I could narely sleep. I go and wake up Gabbie then go to finish my makeup.
I toast a waffle and make one for Gabbie too and we leave for school once she's done.
We get to the gates and I notice David's Tesla isn't in the parking lot and the bells about to ring. Great he's either late or not coming in shit.
I haven't seen David all morning but I think we're sitting with the guys at lunch today so hopefully he'll be there.
I notice the girls sat at the guys table and walk over but don't see David.
Kristen: where's Dobrik?
Scotty: he's younger brother had chicken pox and his parents couldn't take time off of work so he's looking after him
Gabbie: how long will he be off for?
Alex: he's off all week so we'll see him next Monday
I felt like my heart had just been ripped out. I'm going through my worst of times and I can't see one of the only people that makes me happy. Carly offers me a seat beside her but I don't bother sitting down. I can't sit there alone. I speed out the cafeteria into the girls bathroom. Luckily it's empty so I sit down. I'm not gonna cry i can't cry. Gabbies face pops round the door and and tears start to flow from my eyes.
Gabbie: don't cry please don't cry
Liza: I can't help it... do you think he's trying to stay away from me?
Gabbie: of course not
Liza: but there's always and excuse for him not to be with me
Gabbie: he can't help that his family are making him do things
Liza: I haven't seen him since Friday and I won't get to see him till Monday and who knows the next time I'll be able to talk to him
Gabbie: you must of known this would be difficult but you'll get through this
She comes and sits beside me on the bathroom floor despite how disgusting it probably is
Gabbie: because you love eachother
Liza: thanks gabs but I just wish I'd atleast see him
Gabbie: you never know he could come see you when his parents finish working
Liza: no his family friend from out of town is staying so he would notice him sneaking out at night
Gabbie: you'll find a way
Liza: I hope so
Gabbie: have you spoken to your mom or your sister
Liza: I answered one of my moms calls and told her I'm staying with you, we argued for a while but I think as long as I'm safe she doesn't mind for temporary
Gabbie: come on let's get back to lunch I'm starving
Liza: I'm just gonna clean up I'll meet you at he table
She gives me a smile and leaves. I look in the mirror wow am I glad I'm wearing waterproof mascara. I wipe down my face and apply some powder I had In my bag. I put on my bravest face and walk back out.
I think Gabbie told them to leave me be because they all just greeted me with a kind smile as I sat down.
School took forever but finally came to an end. I waited with Gabbie outside of the gate so her and Zane could have their goodbye kiss and tried to find someone to walk with while they did.
A little while goes by and Gabbie finally comes and finds me.
Gabbie: you look depressed come one we're going to have a girls day
Liza: but the other girls don't know
Gabbie: and they don't have to
Liza: what would we even do?
Gabbie: I could get us into the bar at my parents hotel
Liza: that's illegal gobbie
Gabbie: that's what makes it fun
Liza: I'm in
Gabbie: you are?! I didn't even have to persuade you
Liza: I've got nothing to lose right now
Gabbie: okay let's find there other girls
We round up he girls and go back to gabbies to get ready. I wore a short black dress with knee high black boots. I left my hair naturally down and touched up my makeup.
Gabbie: bars empty for us
Carly: and you're sure we won't get caught
Gabbie: who would call the police the owners?
Kristen: do your parent know we're going then?
Gabbie: yes now let's go
She hurries us out the door and drives us to her parents hotel.
We've been for a few hours Gabbie, Kristen, Corinna and Erin are drunk but me and Carly are sat sipping martinis. I've drunk too much and I just start pouring out my emotions. Luckily she's drunk too so hopefully she'll forget it all.
Liza: I just miss him
I whine I can see her looking at me in confusion as I pour another martini.
Carly: miss who? You've been talking about this guy for 30 minutes I don't even know who he is
Liza: David duh
Carly: David who?... David Dobrik!
I nod in reply to drunk to realise what I just told her
Carly: you and Dobrik? A Dobrik and a koshy... that's why you're staying with Gabbie
Liza: sorta
Carly: why didn't you tell us before?
Liza: because it's a secret
I stumble over to the other girls and Erin goes and sits with Carly. Gabbies phone starts to ring and she quickly answers.
Gabbie: baby!
Gabbie: no... okay maybe I'm a little bit drunk
Gabbie: Kristen, Liza, corinna, Carly and Erin
Gabbie: we're at my parents hotel
Gabbie: nooo don't
Gabbie: but we're having fun
She hangs up and turns back to us.
Gabbie: zanes coming to pick us up
Corinna: why?
Gabbie: he thinks we're too drunk and wants us to get home
Kristen: what's the time?
Gabbie: 2am
Zane walks in with Scott by his side and they instantly speed towards us.
Scott: Kristen what were you thinking?
Kristen: what we just wanted to have some fun
Zane: we're driving you home
They got the rest of the girls out the door and into the car but I stayed sat at the bar and poured one more martini.
Scott: liza come on you have to get home
Liza: what's the point? It's not like my parents are looking for me
Zane: Liza please just get in the car and we can talk when your sober
Liza: I wanna see him
We hear one of the girls scream but then erupt into laughter.
Zane: you go get them I'll deal with Liza
Scott runs back out the door to find the girls.
Liza: can you bring David here?
Zane: I don't think you want him to see you like this
Liza: at least I'd get to see him, he hasn't even texted me all day, so not only didn't I see him but I had no contact with him at all
I begin to cry
Zane: he'll be back in school next week
Liza: it's not the same, you know you're really lucky that you and Gabbie can be seen anywhere, you can go on dates, you can kiss in public, you can meet her parents, you can talk to her without trying to hide it
I sink to the ground still crying and Zane comes and sits beside me
Zane: but do you regret what you and David have
Liza: not at all
Zane: then why does all that matter
Liza: because I miss him
Zane stands up and pulls me up with him.
Zane: let's get you home and in bed so you can be sober next time I talk to you
I nod and wipe my eyes. He leads me into the car of laughing girls and drives us back to gabbies house.
He drops us home and makes sure we get into her room safely.
Zane: bye babe I'll see you tomorrow, call me
She smiles in reply and pecks him on the lips.
We both take off our shoes and fall onto the bed.
Gabbie: that was fun
Liza: yeah thanks for taking me out tonight
Gabbie: anytime
Liza: I don't think we'll be able to go to school tomorrow
Gabbie: oh well
