A month had come and gone in a blink of an eye, as I had said of course while I was waiting it seemed to take forever. Mostly because of long shifts and barely any time for anything else. Dylan came by early, and I drove the two of us to the airport.

Waiting... lots of waiting... I usually consider myself a patient person but some days, like this one, it felt like an eternity, the crowds were buzzing with excitement or dread. Some were bursting with happiness and smiles, cause it was for vacation. A time for no stress of day to day life. Others are here for business calls, or to see a family member for what could be the last time. So dread may not be a strong enough word and maybe one day I'll find the word I really meant to use.

Finally, after hours of waiting, we were able to board our flight, and we waited for the journey back to France to begin. I did not, however, think our journey would consist of more than the both of us.

All that was left to think was how it was possible to keep having occurrences of being at the same place as her. (Minus the one time that was definitely set up.) Was this set up as well? Would they be able to pull it off though? I couldn't think of a possible way for the two of them to be able to scheme this but the seats. That was on purpose. Absolutely no doubt about it.
The seats behind us are where Emily sat and Tatiana understandably didn't want to sit away from her friend. It was going to be a long flight.

                                                                          ***

About an hour after takeoff, Dylan turned around and started a conversation with Emily. I was fine just watching out the window, daydreaming to myself. Of course, that was until Dylan dragged me into the conversation.

I turned around, "Not true. That was him."

Emily burst out in laughter, and then the rest of us did as well. "Nothing to be ashamed of Espinoza," Emily said, once she settled down enough to speak.

"Yeah hear that, Kota."

"I am positive she was directing that statement to you."

"Okay, let's just get off of this subject, please and thank you." Dylan stated.

"I could consider except, you brought it up, and it's funny." Emily replied with a mischievous smile spread across her face.

"Em, just drop the subject," Tatiana said for the first time since she boarded the plane. I didn't realize how much I loved the sound of her voice until now. I used to love it but it just suddenly hit me that I was hearing it again, although I heard it a few times in the past few weeks. And now I'm back to where I was a year ago. Back to the same feelings maybe I just never lost them I just grew numb to knowing I'd never see her again, and it took a few times to realize she's right there.

Emily mockingly put up her hands, but not enough to hit anything, "Fine, fine. Whatever you want."

Dylan turned to Tatiana, "Thank you," then he turned back to Emily, "So what brings you to this flight?"

"Tatiana hates my French."

"I do not. It just simply sucks."

Emily tilted her hand to Tatiana, "See,"

"I do. But what does that have to do with anything exactly?"

"She thinks if I listen to real conversations I'm gonna be magically great at it or something like that."

"Not exactly how that works, but it might help a bit. So I hope the best for you."

"Thanks, what about you two why are you here?" Emily asked

"Visiting our mother." Dylan said simply and the topic changed again.

After an hour of Dylan and Emily rambling back and forth and the occasional input of Tatiana and I Emily decided it was time we played a game together.

She called it would you dare, it worked kind of like would you rather except you had to say whether you would dare to try it or if you would rather die.

Dylan was up and of course he picked me, he always did. "Would you dare to have the smallest bit of fun in your life."

"I do have fun, bozo, So yes."

"Alright, my turn, Emily, would you dare to propose to a stranger?"

"Ha, you know me from the few times we met, I wouldn't hesitate."

"Then prove it," Dylan dared.

Emily got out of her seat and scanned the room looking for someone who was evidently single or at least looked like he was. She then turned around, "any of ya have a ring I can borrow?"

Dylan slipped his off his finger, and handed it to her.

"Thanks," she said, and she went on her way. Tatiana stifled a laugh and I did the same, Dylan tried and failed, but he was able to keep himself from getting too loud.

We watched from a short distance as she approached the man sitting alone, she tapped him on the shoulder, "Excuse me, I have something I've been meaning to ask you from the time I first laid eyes on you, which to be honest was like 2 seconds ago, but would you make me the happiest woman in the world and be mine?"

That was when Dylan lost it. And when Emily came back she couldn't stop laughing.

"Okay, Dakota, would you dare to take back an ex?"

I paused and somehow my silence was what she wanted to hear cause then she grinned.

Dedicated to @peacesintheirplace for the continual reads and support, thank you so much <3

Okay so much longer and I am happy about that. I am sort of happy with the way it turned out but I still feel it could be better. So anyway next chapter will be out soon and I'm excited to write it since I have some of it planned.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, be sure to let me know your thoughts!

Stay safe, and have a good day!
