"Music is an expression of individuality; it's how you see the world. All art is, for that matter. You take how you experience the world, interpret it, and send it out there - express it - whether it's sculpture, dance or singing."
-David Sanborn

Chapter 20. The dance

After the ceremony ended, the hall was cleared and transformed into a dance floor with people dancing on it. Hazel was leaning on one of the tables stacked up at the corner with a champagne flute in her hand and her eyes on the people who were dancing. Hazel laughed at a man who was doing silly things while the woman beside him was blushing and playfully punching him while mouthing 'stop'.  She roamed her eyes around the hall to see that Michael was talking to a bunch of business men but his eyes were fixated on her.

She blushed and looked down, feeling his gaze on her. She turned around to put the flute down on the table she was leaning on. Turning around, she came face to face with a man she had never expected to be here before.

"Gavin," She whispered.

"Hazel?" He blinked his eyes and then rubbed them again, just to make sure that she was really there.

"It's you," Hazel whispered, smiling as tears brimmed her eyes.

Gavin chuckled and hugged her before he picked her up in his arms and flung her around. She squealed happily.

"Hey babe, are you cheating on me?" Hazel quickly recognized the sound and turned around to face her.

"Oh, my God," Scarlet whispered. Hazel smiled and engulfed her in a hug. They squealed and jumped up and down happily. A man, from the waiters came up to them and told them that they are requested to stop before a complaint is filed against them.

They stopped but held each other's forearms. Giggling, Scarlet led her outside of the hall where they continued squealing.

"How did you guys come here?" Hazel asked.

"Well, we're cops undercover and someone here has to be arrested for not calling in like FOREVER!" Scarlet accused.

"Hey, that doesn't answer my question!" Hazel snapped playfully.

"Well, we all know how amazingly successful my fiance is," Scarlet said. That's when it clicked to Hazel.

"We had invitations, girl!!" Scarlet grinned.

"That's right. Our company had been shipping construction equipment and school tools for the children, that's why they invited us. Have been, in fact, for the last three years," Gavin explained.

"Now, I want to see that hot little mate of yours, Haze." Scarlet smirked making Hazel blush.

"Oh yeah, he's inside. I was talking to him a while ago. How do you handle his arrogance, sis? I almost lost my damned mind because of him," Gavin accused making Hazel giggle.

Because of Scarlet's constant nagging, Hazel pulled her inside and pointed at Michael after which Scarlet whispered, "he's so hot!"
************

It was getting a tad bit late and Hazel was getting tired. Michael was still talking to some people and even Gavin and Scarlet had left.

Michael watched as Hazel tried to stifle a yawn, clearly indicating that she was tired. He suddenly felt guilty for making her feel bored and not entertaining her. Surely it wasn't his job as a boss, but as her mate, it was.

"Shall we dance?" Michael asked as he approached Hazel.

Hazel, confused, looked left and right and then behind her, making sure that he was talking to her.

Raising her eyebrow, she pointed towards herself and asked, "Me?"

Michael chuckled and nodded.

"Um- my feet hurt a little and I can't really dance," Hazel replied, even though not all of what she said was true. She could dance, she knew she could but she didn't want to dance with her boss.

He's your mate, too! Her wolf exclaimed.

"You have a strong lead," Michael smirked.

"Um, well okay sure." Hazel replied and held out her hand which Michael took before he led her to the floor.

Hazel stood frozen on her feet. Michael said something to the DJ and the song shifted to a slow one, making Hazel gulp.

He came back to her and held her hands. He placed on of them on his chest and held the other. He placed his free hand on her waist and felt Hazel shuddered.

He smirked and started leading her to the music. She felt shy at first but then eventually relaxed and soon they both found their rythm.

Hazel felt him staring at her but she did not have the courage to look up and back at him. She could feel him lowering his head and he buried it in her neck. He caught a sniff of her perfume and Hazel's eyes closed. She could feel the bridge of his nose touching her neck and he placed a light kiss.

"Michael," She whispered.

"Hmm?" He hummed, dragging his nose along her neck to the sensitive spot on her neck.

"Stop." Hazel whispered, barely audible enough for him to hear.

"You want me to stop?" Michael whispered back. He sucked on the spot where he was suppose to mark her.

"Yes." Hazel moaned. Even she herself was unable to understand whether she said yes, to ask him for stop or yes- to ask him for more. Something in her had changed all of a sudden. The room felt really hot and his scent felt more masculine than ever. Her wolf was begging to pounce on him and for the first time in her life- she agreed with her.

"Michael, we can't here."

Michael looked around and noticed that they had a small audience around them.

"You're right." He said, straightening up making Hazel release a sigh of relief.

"Let's go to the car, then." Michael said.

What?!

Sooo...why do you guys think that Hazel felt that way? Ooo and there's something spicy in the next chapter...
