I know I'm broken, but you can heal me
Jesus, Jesus , I'm calling you

Might not be worth much, but I'm still willing
Jesus, Jesus, I'm calling you

Nadine sang the song with so much raw passion, you could clearly feel like maybe there was something broken inside of her.

Dami could feel it on the stands. She was glad that she wouldn't have to face Mfon today, since Nadine was around. But she wasn't glad about another thing.

"That's all for today, well done guys, on Saturday we'll meet up for a final run through. Remember, this is the kind of songs the elders like so all we need is the Holy Spirit to help our voices reach out to the broken. Let's pray"

After the choir dispersed, she made to go quickly but Nadine stopped her. She stood right in front of her way and Damilola dares not side step.

"Where is she?" Nadine demanded. She was very much like her sister, really nice and sweet but there's a dark side to them and people really don't want to encounter.

Dami couldn't look into her eyes. This was the reason why Isabelle declined coming with her to choir practice cause she knew Nadine would show up. And Isabelle had told her to deny her whereabouts. How could she, right now when Nadine bore such a look that she had never seen on her pretty face before?

"Um..." Dami stuttered.

"Don't even do that. I know she's with you. I need you to tell me the truth. Where is she right now, Damilola"

Dami sighed. This was going to be a load of stress.

***********

Days passed and Isabelle couldn't still believe that she was the only one sanctioned. After Principal Joke had assured her of everything, she knew that she didn't have that word with Shayo because her job was on the line. Isabelle wouldn't blame her, because at some point you would need to overlook certain things or get your hands dirty if you really need your job. What shocked her was Shayo acting like nothing had happened between them.

Isabelle just wanted an apology but it looked like she wasn't going to get any of that. Such is life, anyway. Sometimes forgiveness doesn't require any apology. She eventually, moved on with her life and decided not to poke her nose in what doesn't concern her. She kept her distance from Shayo and any other person that could cause trouble. Her life was going well, but until Dami came back from choir practice looking troubled.

"I saw Nadine" was what she started off with, even before Isabelle could open her mouth.

Isabelle sighed and leaned against the door. Tobi came rushing to the door and offering to collect Dami's bag.

"What did she say to you?"

Dami looked disturbed. "She demanded that she sees you"

Isabelle rolled her eyes and went to sit down. Tosin was watching cartoons as usual. She reached out and touched her hair.

"What did you tell her?"

"What were you expecting? That you were here, of course"

Isabelle felt angry and betrayed at the same time. "Dami, I specifically told you.."

"Don't try putting this on me. You know how intimidating Nadine can be so don't think it would be so easy for me to lie." Dami slumped into one of the armchairs.

She sighed. Dami was right anyway. She could only go so far. Nadine was so smart.

"She's coming over tonight" Dami announced. "I'm sorry, but I couldn't force it. Mum is coming home soon, so I'd let her know to cook for an extra person"
