Earl POV

I sat in front of Leonardo's son in another room that was similar to the other one minus the corpses. He poured three glasses of whiskey before giving my brother and I a glass each. We all took a few sips before the younger man broke the silence by presented himself.

"Matteo Ferrari, it is a pleasure to finally meet you," he said with a slight accent as he extended his hand toward me.

"Earl King," I sharply nodded as we exchanged a firm handshake.

"Shelby has already explained everything to me since his last visit here. After our meeting, he has opened my eyes. Unlike my father, I will like to see the alliance come to life. Our organization is presently frozen in the past. I have tried to convince my father that we had to change, but he has always been too stubborn..." he started to explain with a contemplative smile. "That is why I have decided that it was time to replace my father, that a revolution was needed. We need to open up to the outside world," he paused, "Here's my proposition, we will let you do whatever you want here in Rome, under my supervision, of course. But, I will like the same favour from your side," I sat back as I carefully listened to him even if I heard the door open and close. "I hope we can also exchange weapons, information and resources."

I looked at the man assessing his proposition which was exactly what I wanted, well almost everything. Since he was so willing, some negotiating was in order.

"I won't turn around the bush. I'm pleased to know that you agree with those terms, but give me some of your territories," I bargained which made the younger man raise an eyebrow as I felt Shelby's eyes on me. He must be mad since he didn't know about it or maybe it was because I was about to blow it all away. I knew what I was doing was risky, but it was needed for us to become more influential.

"I hope you're not thinking that I will give them to you for free."

"We don't have enough money," whispered Shelby in an accusatory tone next to my ear, but I ignored his remark since we won't need any.

"There are still some powerful men who are still loyal to Leonardo Ferrari. Do you think you'll be able to contain all of their wraths by winning them over? But even if you do, there is no guarantee that they won't betray you like you did to your own father," I taunted. Being the new leader, he had yet to make sure that all his men were loyal to him and him alone. "Let me get them out of your way and in exchange, I'll take three of your territories."

"You don't have near enough the manpower," he retorted with an accusatory tone as I took a sip of my drink.

"Let me ask you, Matteo Ferrari, how many men are still blocking your way to this revolution?"

"A total of two hundred men or so," he answered vaguely with a smirk.

I looked at Kane who was already beside me. "Do you think you can do it?" I asked and he nodded in answer without any hesitation, "How long will it take?" I continued with a teasing glare since I knew that he wouldn't be taking too long. I just wanted to tease him when I could.

"It'll be done by tonight," he shortly answered making me nod in agreement as both the other men choked on their saliva.

"Good, you know what to do," I dismissed him and before he left, I felt his glare on the back of my head. I was so screwed. He was already mad at the little stunt I made him do earlier. I could already feel it in my gut, he will fucking beat me up tonight.

"They are heavily armed and the men there are well trained! Do you think that one man can take care of this matter alone and finish it for tonight?" Matteo asked incredulously.
