I hum quietly to myself as I look over the list of required ingredients. Over the last few months I've gotten a lot better at reading Minecraftian. I barely need the translation dictionary anymore! Now if only I knew how to speak it. I fan through the potion book absently, looking over all the different types of potions and spells. One page about a temporary memory blocking potion had notes written all over it, talking about the different side effects and how long it lasted, but that isn't what I'm looking for at this moment in time. I continue fanning through the pages until I stop at the page I personally marked as important, all with my own notes and observations.

Level Three Potion of Poison:
Death in seconds

A smile grows on my face as I look over to the small vials of green liquid on the desk beside me. I only have a few left to test out. It's more efficient that I thought it would've been.

My train of thought is interrupted by a soft knock at the door. Jumping slightly, I close the potion book and slide it into my desk drawer. "Come in!" I call out, standing up and smoothing out my dress. They should know better than to interrupt my studying... My train of thought pauses as I watch the tall, blue-eyed and curly-haired man of my dreams walk into my living quarters. Mi'kai. His light-grey uniform was freshly cleaned, and his shoes were recently polished. He already looked like a soldier, even known he wasn't graduating for another three years.

"Hey," Mi'kai says with a small smile, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's been a while." My heart starts to race as soon as I listen to his voice. It's deeper than I remember...

"It has," I say quickly, pinching my arm behind my back. Nope, not a dream. Unless you can feel pain in a dream...

Mi'kai clears his throat before looking around the room. "I see you've been studying a lot more than usual. Minecraftian I presume?" He inquires, walking over to investigate a series of notes I wrote on the wall about prefixes.

"You know Minecraftian?" I ask, my eyes widening with fear. Can he read all of those notes?

He says something in Minecraftian, turning around and winking at me before repeating himself in Mespelí. My heart skips a beat when he winks at me, and I barely hear the words he says. "Only a little. My father taught me a few words when I was young." There was a hint of pain in his voice when he spoke about his father. Oh yeah. His parents died...

"I'm sorry about what happened to your parents," I murmur softly, gently touching his arm. "They were lovely people."

Mi'kai closes his eyes and shakes his head. "There's no need to apologise, Anaihee. If anything, I should be the one apologising." His words were strong, and yet I could sense the slightest amount of weakness within them.

"Why?" I ask, tilting my head in confusion as his blue eyes meet mine. His eyes are the same colour as the water around the islands. I note to myself.

"I haven't been in contact with you for over three months, and I've felt bad about doing that to you. I didn't even give you a warning." He scrunches his face in shame before looking away from me.

"Don't worry about it, I'm not upset. You've been dealing with a tough time. I can hardly imagine what it would feel like to loose someone you loved, let alone two in one day."

Mi'kai nods before turning to look back at me again. "Thank you, Anaihee," he murmurs, hesitatingly touching my hand with his own.

"Of course!" I squeak, my face heating up embarrassment. Control yourself Anaihee!
