It's me again God,
I was just reflecting on how much we crave good news. It was a big weekend in news and I have to admit to refreshing my news page multiple times to see if there was any good news regarding the local bushfires. On this occasion I was eventually able to see good news as firefighters were able to get the blazes under control. It temporarily made up for the other aspects of the news and current affairs that were not good.
Thank You that even on a day when the world and local news is not good, I can be sure that when I turn to Your Word, I will find the best Good News stories ever!
Your Good News was so good, that the prophet Isaiah foretold it:
"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!"
Isaiah 52:7 NLT
Jesus, You were the Good News and told people:
""The time promised by God has come at last!" he announced. "The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!""
Mark 1:15 NLT
Paul told of this Good News in his letter to the Romans:
"For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life.""

Lord we are so blessed to have access to Your Word which we can read anytime and be reminded of how amazing Your love is, that You chose to save us when we were heading for destruction. Thank You so much Jesus for being willing to leave heaven to come here on such an amazing mission. Thank You for dying for me and paying the price for my sins. Thank You for rising again so that I can have eternal life! Thank You for Your disciples and apostles like Paul who went on to preach the Good News after You went back to be with the Father, so that all these years later, I can know it too and receive life!
