Chapter Twenty Four

I managed to avoid Carrie for the rest of the day which is a good and at the same time a horrible thing. It's like letting loose a wild bear into the building, damaging everything in its way. The whole day, I stuck beside Milly who kept complaining about her somewhat portfolio that she has to pass for a job in a design company. She said she had it all stored in her computer but the whole software was hacked and all her files got lost. So she was drawing all the time in class today, desperate in coming up with any design she can think of.

Our school has a good habit of recommending students in big companies of their specific field. Mostly because those companies are owned by previous graduated of the university so it's always been easy for graduating students here to get a job; only those who has been working their asses off all their years in university, actually.

Dismissal came. Its Friday afternoon which means tomorrow is the football game between our school and QIU. Our players are working their butts off in our field all week, some of them looked nervous and afraid. Everytime we pass the field, there's always sweaty men in shorts. Luckily, I've given up footballs when I had to. I just learned that QIU has never been lost in the championship for 5 years, both men and women. And according to Milly, the captain of our team and Louis had had a lot of tension over the past 2 years, considering their both one of the best players of both teams.

Things are going to heat up this year cause both of them are now the captains of each teams.

Tomorrow's really going to be tough, I can tell. Even QIU's working their asses off and I see Niall and Harry running around the fields. I guess that's for missing practice. Milly thinks it's hilarious.

"Who do you think will win tomorrow?" I ask her. She scoffed as if that was a rhetorical question.

"Them, obviously. Let's face it, our school sucks in football..." She says, bursting into hysterical laughter. She turns to me suddenly being serious.

"You're coming right? No more excuses or anything?" She asked. She's been keeping score of the football games I've been chickening out of. Its a large number, to be honest.

I took a deep breath and nodded. "Sure, why not." I say through a breath. I just said that to keep Milly quiet but I'm not exactly sure if I would. But if she picks me up tomorrow then I don't think I have a choice.

"Good. By the way did you know Niall's going out with someone?" She asked in a creepily interested tone and a grin.

"I saw them in the supermarket yesterday... I don't know who the girl is but she seems nice." I say. I only saw her from the back. She was short which is good because Niall's always complaining he finds it difficult, finding a girl who's shorter than him even if they're on heels.

"She's small isnt she?" Milly says, turning to the field. I follow her direction, my eyes widen when my eyes landed on the girl she was referring too.

It can't be Carrie! It doesn't have to be Carrie but why Carrie? Oh Niall you could do so much better. I can't believe I didnt recognize Carrie Shelsher from the back! That little demon's keeping her horns somewhere in that red hair of hers!

Their coach yelled for them to take a break and thats our cue to get on the field. When we reached the field, I ignore the fact that carrie's actually flaunting with Niall. Niall's such a nice guy, why does he feel the need to go out with Carrie? Or what does Carrie want from Niall?

Liam was looking at me curiously the whole time. When I turned to him he mouthed 'are you okay' and I gave him a thumbs up.

"They just started going out yesterday but they're inseparable." He says, shaking his water bottle. I turn back to the lovely couple next to us only to find Carrie clinging to him like a parasite.
