Chapter 3: Party Problems

Once Nathan and I finished eating, we headed on over to Savannah's house for her party. All I could think of was this was going to be very interesting. When we got there, I was so relieved to see my brother outside in front of Savannah's house.

"Looks like your brother is having a good time." Nathan said as I saw him talking to a few girls and held a beer in his hand. Nathan reached out to slowly grab my hand, I wanted to pull away, but I didn't.

When we got inside, the music was blaring loudly. There were people making out, dancing, chugging beers, and playing Just Dance on what looks like the Xbox One. We walked into the kitchen, where is wasn't as loud as it was in the living room.

"You want something to drink?" Nathan asked, as I nodded as he handed me a Bud Light Lime. I've had alcohol before, at weddings, but never at a party. Hell, this was my first party. I took a sip and swallowed the awful stuff.

Nathan laughed when he saw my face turn sour. "Here, try this one." He took the Bud Light Lime and handed me a wine cooler instead. This tasted a lot better. Tasted just like strawberries.

"Not bad." I said, Nathan ended up drinking my Bud Light Lime.

"First party?" He asked, I nodded. He seemed surprised. "Well, then, let's make the best of it." We then went back into the living room, and that's when I saw Jax.

Passing a joint back and forth with his usual stoner group. I wanted to walk over. I then saw Savannah kiss Jax. I didn't know how to really feel, but once the kiss was over, he saw me. Nathan then grabbed me and turned me to face him.

"You want to dance? Or drink?" He asked.

"I don't know if I should drink a lot. I don't want to go home drunk." I said.

"Don't worry, I have it all taken care of. We are going to crash here for tonight. You'll be sober by morning. We just got to get you back home before noon." He explained. I didn't know if I should trust him or not, but I was willing to give him a chance to prove me wrong.

With everything going on, being arranged to be married, having to date someone I didn't want to date, and with the weird feeling it gave me when Jax kissed Savannah. I started taking shots and chugging beers. Nathan was too. He was surprised that I was.

Jax still didn't come up to me. He kept staring at me as I was getting closer to Nathan.

"You okay with me kissing you?" Nathan asked, I pressed our lips together and started to make out. He wasn't that bad. Although I didn't wanted to do more, but the alcohol was making me want to do more. I started to feel a little buzzed. I liked it. We stopped kissing long enough for me to drag Nathan over to where everyone was playing Just Dance.

"You want to know something about me?" I asked. Nathan nodded. I then grabbed a controller and chose a song. My favorite song to dance to on Just Dance: Mr. Saxobeat. At my house, I have the highest score. Before I could start Savannah came over and grabbed the second player controller. She gave me a dirty look.

"Who the hell invited you here?" Her drunken ass asked. She was wobbling back and forth. "I'll beat your ass on this and then you can fucking leave!"

Jax walked over and a few other people did too, wanting to see what would happen. "I came with Nathan." Her eyes went wide.

"Fucking Nathan?!?" It took her a second to give a dirty look at Nathan before she spoke again. "What a fucking slut! First you go out with Jax and now with Nathan??"

I took a deep breath before I answered. I wanted to punch her in the face. "First of all, Jax and I went out for breakfast to study. I'm dating Nathan you dumb, bitch." Nathan smiled when I said we were dating. I guess he didn't mind being with a nerd after all. "Now, lets play so I can beat your ass."

Savannah stayed quiet as I started the game. Once the music started, I hit every move perfectly, just like I would of if I was sober. She wasn't even close to every move. Once the song ended, everyone cheered and started to chant: 'Maddie.'

I loved it, I walked over to Nathan, where he held two shots and we both took one together and I jumped into his arms and gave him a passionate kiss. "I didn't know you were amazing at Just Dance." Nathan said as I smiled in his arms.

"There's a lot you don't know about me." I smirked. He ended up putting me down and walking outback to the backyard with me.

I sat in a lawn chair as he kissed me again. "I have to go to the bathroom. You want or need anything?" Nathan asked. I nodded no as he went back inside.

I looked up at the sky, watching the stars, when someone sat down next to me. "You could've told me you were on your way or coming here with dipshit." Jax complained.

"Well, I was on a date with him and he happened to be invited and I forgot." I said, standing up and walking away from him. Of course, he followed.

"Clearly, he is using you for sex." Jax said.

"Clearly, you don't understand why I'm dating him." I snapped back at him.

"And why is that? Oh I know, princesses daddy told her she had to or else. Right? Did daddy set up this date for you? Huh?"

"Shut the fuck up!" I yelled. "You don't know me or nor do you care about me." I paused, I just wanted to slap him, so I did. "You are fucking using me, okay? I'm arranged to be married to him." I whispered to him. His face changed to being angry at me to being sorry for me.

"Look, I'm-" He tried to finish, but I stopped him.

"Don't tell me I'm sorry. I have enough shit to deal with. You can tell everyone that I'm a secret stoner. I don't give a fuck if you do! I've lost everything, you don't get that! I have to do what I am told, otherwise I'll be sent out to the trash and become a disgrace to everyone. So, just leave me alone." I then walked back inside the house and started to look for Nathan.

When I opened the door to the bathroom, Nathan was in there alright. Having sex with Savannah. I couldn't believe it. Nathan saw me too, but clearly didn't care to chase after me. I ran down the stairs and went to the front of the house. I just wanted to go home.

"Maddie, you okay?" My brother said as I turned around to see him heading my way. I hugged him tightly.

"No, please take me home. I want to go home with you." I asked.

"Of course you can. Let me grab my truck and we will go home." He said as he walked down the street as I waited for him.

Maybe Brandon was right, I could fight back and say no to being married. I mean, I thought Nathan was going to be different because this was arranged. I guess I was wrong. Brandon pulled up his truck to the curve and I opened the door.

Once I closed it, Nathan was running after me. "Maddie, wait!" He yelled.

"You want me to go?" Brandon asked.

"Just drive." I said as Brandon started the engine and drove off. I wasn't a 100% sure what I was planning on doing about Nathan and this arranged marriage, but I didn't want to be dishonored by my father and mother either. I needed to sleep on it.

I watched as we drove off into the dark, to Brandon's new home. It might someday become my new home.
