I carefully set my phone down beside me, my heart beating wildly inside of my chest.
Omg what did I say?-
She texted me at 2 a.m-
I talked to a girl at 2 a.m wha-
I fanned my flushed face with my sweaty palms, my mind buzzing with the things that managed to reach the screen of my phone. I didn't realize I had been holding my breath until I exhaled, my chest relaxing into its normal state.
Despite the time, I couldn't feel drowsiness I had a mere ten minutes earlier.
How am I going to sleep?
I laid back into my mattress and tried shutting my eyes and ceasing movement to fall into slumber.
But, I couldn't keep them closed because the thoughts scurrying through my brain kept making my eyelids open right back up.
So, I tried focusing on something inside of my room and discovered the perfect thing.
The curtain of my window wasn't completely closed, and a snippet of the moon's luminous light fell into my room.
The soft radiance made the dust particles in my room appear as tiny stars being suspended in the air.
The longer I stared, the more my brain seemed to settle, and my eyes finally succumbed to sleep like the rest of my body
Yet, my brain still had a final thought.
I made a girl, friend.
