Chapter 13

Everett ~The next day~

"It's only gotten worse since yesterday." Mom said, putting away her thermometer.

I put a pillow over my head. "Can you turn the light off?"

"Oh I'm sorry honey." She said and the lights clicked off. "Did you sleep at all?"

"I can't sleep." I said. "I have a horrible headache."

"Poor baby." She said. "Do you wanna go to the hospital?"

"Probably need to." I muttered.

"Ok." She said. "Get dressed and I'll have your father drive us."

I nodded.

Quinn

"Hey." I poked Violet's nose. "Wake up."

She rolled over and River clutched her tighter to his chest.

I poked her again.

"Leave me alone." She said.

"No. I had to get up yesterday, you're getting up today." I said. "And we're late."

River's eyes shot open. "Late?"

He pushed Violet off of him, making sure she didn't roll off the couch. "Go to school."

"But I wanna stay with you." Violet gave him her puppy dog eyes.

"That's not fair and you know it." He said. "I'll be here when you get back."

"Uhh." She sat up.

"Bring your life Violet. Classes started two hours ago and not only do we have to go get my car but we have shopping to do." I told her.

"I'll pick up your car." River says. "I know you'll want to take your precious time shopping."

"No." I denied.

"Not you. Her." He pointed at Violet. "It once took her six hours to buy a gallon of milk."

"I was window shopping." She said.

She got up, stumbling to her bedroom.

"Take care of her Quinn." River said. "Call me if anything happens."

"I'll try but we don't have every class together."

I major in Political Science while Violet majors in Chemistry.

What had Everett majored in.

"Quinn!" Someone was calling my name.

I shook my head and looked at Violet. "What?"

"We can go now." She rolled her eyes.

'Our mate.' Leia said. 'He's in his heat. He's suffering. He needs us.'

'We can't.' I told her.

'As long as we don't get caught.' Leia said.

She wasn't wrong.

But if we did get caught the punishment would be severe.

We would be charged with exposure of our kind and exiled.

Everyone would be given the command to kill us on sight.

We would be rogue.

But heat is worse than that.

Especially for humans.

With a werewolf finds their mate things move quick, fast and in a hurry.
