Quinn
~the next day~
I cursed loudly, biting down on my pillow as Violet snapped my bones back into the right places.
"I'm sorry." She cried.
"It's alright." I lied.
Like I said. We heal fast. But sometimes we heal too fast.
I had woken up hours after Violet, who had sustained the least amount of damage and River still has yet to wake up.
My legs and arms had healed fine but my ribs had placed themselves behind my spine.
So I'm literally bent out of shape as Violet rebreaks them and corrects them.
"I'm almost done." She said. "I'll leave Sammy with you while I call the SEU for River."
SEU stands for special emergency unit. The organization works with every and any pack because nine times out of ten there's someone from every pack in the whole world working there.
It's kind of complicated.
But they're the only people who can fix people who've been injured like River.
River had still been in his human form and human bones are much simpler to crush.
It was so bad that his body hasn't even started repairing itself yet.
He got a head and spine injury from being thrown against the wall and the rest of his body was shocked from the two falls onto my footboard.
I swore again as Violet broke another rib.
Leia had passed out shortly after I'd woken up. She used up her last bit of strength to keep our bones from completely shattering while they healed.
My teeth tore through the pillow as I bit down again. "Damn it!"
"Alright." Violet backed away. "I'm done. Now you get some rest for the next few hours."
"What about her?" I asked, regarding the lifeless body at the foot of my bed.
"Right. I'll see if they can bring someone to clean up." She said.
I felt pressure on the bed next to me and Honey curled up next to me.
She's upset with Violet because she took away her ball but she was just as happy to play with the other parts of the body.
The corpse was missing an eye, a few fingers and an arm.
Violet left to deal with River and I drifted off into a fitful sleep.
When I woke up it was completely dark and the smell of blood was gone.
"Violet?" I got up, flinching from the soreness in my back.
I stretched. I'd be fine in a few minutes.
I looked around for Samantha or Honey. Neither of them seemed to still be in my room.
Then again everything isn't always as it seems.
I used the wall to balance myself as I stumbled through the hallway and into the living room.
Three pairs of eyes focused on me.
"Quinn." Violet rushed to my side, helping me into a seat. "This is Rose. She has some questions for you."
She picked up Samantha. "I'll make some snacks."
The woman, Rose, straightened her glasses. "Thank you."
Then she looked at me. "Hello Quinn. So sorry to hear about the imcident, sorry for your loss."
