"Tony!" I heard Bucky call as we walked - I mean, I wobbled in pain - hand in hand towards the car.

Long story short, I was in labor and Tony was driving Bucky and I to the hospital.

"Breathe, baby," Bucky comforted, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze. "You're gonna be okay."

"I can't!" I said in desperation, trying to breathe. "I can't, it hurts," I continued, gripping his hand.

"Hey, listen to me," he told me, looking into my eyes. "Follow my lead, okay?"

He breathed in deeply, and I followed despite how hard it was, before exhaling.

"There you go. That's my girl," he said proudly. "Can you do that again?"

I barely managed to breathe properly before another wave of pain hit me, and I groaned.

"Sh, it's okay. It'll pass," he said. "Can you rate the pain from one to ten?"

"Just imagine that I kicked your balls, and the pain goes on for ten hours or so," Tony answered for me as we got in the car, and I couldn't help but laugh.

"That's rough," Bucky whispered under his breath.

"You should be thankful that (Y/N) has a high tolerance of pain. Cap's wife literally yanked like half of his hair off his head, so you could imagine how hard it was for the both of them," Tony continued. "You guys are pretty calm about this. Have you done this before?"

Bucky almost choked, while I already full-on choked.

"Are you okay?!" Bucky asked frantically.

I smiled through the pain, and muttered a 'yes'.

"How long does take to arrive at the hospital? We've been here for hours," I complained, clutching my swollen belly.

"You have been here for exactly ten minutes. I don't supposed it has been a few hours," FRIDAY chimed in.

"Yeah, that was an expression," I mumbled in pain.

We arrived soon after, and Bucky immediately shouted for a doctor.

"Buck!" I whispered, nudging his side.

"Sorry," he said sheepishly.

After that, I was rushed into a room where only Bucky was allowed, and I was kind of relieved.

"Are you feeling okay?" he asked, clearly worried as he stood up from his chair.

"Yeah. She's been kicking a whole lot, though," I told him, lying on the bed.

He grinned. "My lil' sunshine is a fighter already," he cooed, placing his human hand on my stomach.

"Mr and Mrs Barnes," the doctor greeted with a nod.

"Doctor!" Bucky exclaimed in relief. "Finally! Could you please check if my wife is okay?"

"Of course," she said, grinning. "I've been so excited for this moment. It just brings me back to when I had my son," she explained. "She's ready for the delivery," she said after checking everything. "I'll get the nurses." She rushed out of the room.

"What?"

"She says you're ready," he repeated, trying to keep his cool.

"No, I'm not," I said to him in fear. "Bucky, tell her I'm not ready, yet," I pleaded.

"It's gonna be okay," he said, sensing how scared I actually was. "I'm right here," he continued, kissing my forehead. "You're gonna be alright."

"But it hurts," I said, almost giving up already.

"It's gonna hurt a lot more, baby, but you'll be okay. You can do this," he encouraged, kissing my hand. "I'm right here with you."

Soon, all I remembered was just going through a lot of pain, and squeezing Bucky's hand so tightly that I could swear I heard a crack.

A sharp cry was heard, and the doctors immediately cleaned her up and wrapped her in a pink blanket.

"I'm so proud of you," Bucky said, kissing me. "So, so proud."

"Hey, it was a team effort," I sighed, still trying to catch my breath. "How's your hand?"

"Probably broken, but it doesn't really matter," he laughed it off. "All I wanna do is just be here with you and our baby."

"You seriously have to get that checked."

"Nah. I've broken so many bones in my body to consider this painful," he said.

"That's... not comforting at all," I said, laughing tiredly.

"Here," the doctor handed me our daughter.

"Thank you so much," Bucky and I said in unison.

She smiled widely, and exited the room to give us some privacy.

"Hi, hunny. I'm your mommy," I cooed as I felt tears of joy streaming down my face.

"She looks just like you," Bucky said, obviously in awe. He gently pressed a kiss on her forehead, and she immediately reached out for him.

"Aw, she's a daddy's girl," I whispered, smiling. "Here," I gave the baby to him.

Bucky backed away a little bit, and I knew that he didn't trust himself enough to hold her.

"It's okay. You can hold her," I assured him.

"No, it's just... I'm scared of hurting her, you know? I sometimes can't even trust my own mind when I'm around you. I just..." he trailed off, looking down.

"Hey, listen to me. She's your daughter, too. You're allowed to hold her," I told him, pulling his metal arm gently.

"Are you sure?"

I nodded, and put the baby in his arms, but because of how big he was, he could fit the whole baby on one arm.

The cool metal surface seemed to soothe her instead of making her cry, and Bucky looked amazed.

"She... she's not crying," he sighed in relief. "Hi, princess. I'm your dad, and I love you a whole lot, okay? Don't you ever forget that," he cooed, kissing her once more.

I didn't cry at that. Absolutely not. I mean, my eyes were sweating, but I think that's about it.

"I love your mom, too," he said, looking at me.

"I love you more," I argued.

"She's the most amazing person I've ever met," he whispered not-so-quietly, completely ignoring my statement. "Uncle Steve is amazing, too, and you'll get to see him in a few days. Don't tell him that I told you this, but he's really excited."

I laughed lightly, the tiredness finally taking effect on me. I listened to Bucky talking about each and every one of our friends as I drifted off to sleep.

"Goodnight, baby," he whispered, thinking I couldn't hear him. "I love you more, no matter what you say."
