"How about the one across the road? He seems pretty gullible," Loki asks, nudging your shoulder.

Long story short, you and Loki are finding people to prank because apparently it's 'Mischief Monday' in the Stark Tower, and everyone who isn't saving the world on that day has to participate.

This all started because Tony thought that Loki could use something to make him feel more welcome on Earth, since ever since New York, people have been rather cautious around him.

Bucky is paired up with Steve, Tony with Peter, Clint with Nat, and Sam with Rhodey. You have no idea how the others managed to get away from Tony Stark's apparently-infamous puppy dog eyes he used to convince you to join in the 'fun'.

"Geez, I feel bad," you say, scratching the back of your neck. "Let's just tell the team that we're done."

"Oh come on," Sam whines through the comms, which you have completely forgotten that you yourself are wearing. "You're gonna cheat your way through this?"

"Of course we're not!" Loki exclaims, earning weird looks from the pedestrians walking by. He shoots you an offended look when you said that, but you know that he's just joking around.

"Fine, fine," you say with a sheepish laugh. "Let's go."

"That's my partner in crime!" Loki cheers, kissing you on the top of your head as he puts his arm around you happily.

You both cross the road when the pedestrian light turns green, and you can't help the excitement bubbling up from within you.

Confident in Loki's skills, you stay back as he does his magic, somehow telepathically telling the man to look away as he clips a string connected to a fake snake to the base of the man's shirt.

You hold on your laugh, before plastering the most scared face you can muster. "Snake!" you shout, pointing at the fake animal on the ground.

Loki rushes to your side, effectively making the poor man even more scared that he already looks.

"Where?" he asks, his voice just above a whisper.

At that point, you can hear the guys laughing over the comms, and that's when you start to lose it, too.

The man genuinely looks like he's shit his pants.

You laugh and before you know it, the man turns around in disbelief and sees the clip on the hem of his shirt.

"I'm calling the police! I could've died!" he exclaims, and it's your turn to look like you've shit your pants.

"Y'all in big trouble," Sam comments.

"Make a run for it!" Bucky tells you both, but you can already hear the sirens wailing, and it getting louder with each second.

"Oh, shit," Loki curses under his breath.

"What happened?" a cop practically demands as soon as he gets out of the car. "Hands in the air, sir," he orders, and Loki is just about to object, but you nudge his foot with yours and he immediately got the signal that this isn't the time.

Silence settles between you, and you can hear your heart palpitating in your ears. Just as you're about to say something, you're cut off my the familiar whirring and humming of Tony's suit, and sure enough, he's come to save your helpless asses.

"Iron Man, coming through!" Tony says through his suit, before landing on the spot just beside Loki. "Sorry, they misbehaved today. I'm gonna teach them manners, promise," he says to the cop, who basically just kneels for him because he's Iron Man!

He lets you both go without any hesitation as soon as Loki magics his way to his usual Asgardian attire because holy shit, that's Loki.

He doesn't recognize you, though, which is quite fortunate for you because being a new Avenger already has it's difficulties, and having problems with a policeman isn't exactly ideal.

"Sorry," the policeman apologizes quickly. "I uh... it's an honor to meet you," he continues awkwardly, and he's extremely thankful that none of you you can hear him freaking out internally.

To be fair, Loki probably can, but he doesn't mention it.

"I'm gonna let you guys go this time, alright? Second time's gonna get you in real trouble," the cop warns as sternly as he can possibly be, before turning around and telling the man you pranked that everything's fine.

"Yes, sir." You salute him, and soon you feel yourself being in Loki's arms and transported back to the Stark Tower in just a second.

"Back already?" Wanda asks as soon as she spots the both of you. Tony's probably still with Strange, either continuing their prank or doing something else entirely.

"We almost got arrested!" Loki scoffs, putting his hands in the air as if asking, what the hell?

"Ah, yeah. That's why Vis and I stopped playing," Wanda replied with a slight laugh. "I have to go," she says abruptly, motioning to a very confused Vision in the kitchen. "Can't have him burning the Tower down."

You sigh and lean your head on Loki's chest once she's gone. "I really do feel bad for the guy," you confess. "What if we gave him a panic attack?"

"Hush, love. He's okay," Loki replied softly, pressing a kiss on your forehead and using two fingers to tilt your chin up gently. "Don't blame yourself for it. It was my idea, and therefore, my fault. I'm sorry you had to go through the whole almost-arrested thing." He runs his fingers through your hair, calming you down. "Besides, I looked into his fears and snakes weren't one of them."

"Well, they might be now."

"I'm trying to make you feel better!" He rolls his eyes, hiding a smile.

"We should try to do that to the team instead," you say jokingly.

You can see a smirk making its way to his face. "Definitely," he replies. "Who should we start with?"

"No, I didn't mean it literally!" you respond quickly, laughing. "'Was just kidding, but it could be fun."

"I'm so lucky to have met you," he sighs in content. "Or else who'd be my partner in crime, hm?"

He kisses you gently, as if asking for permission to continue.

You kiss him back immediately and feel him caressing your cheekbone with his thumb.

He smiles into the kiss and-

"Oh, God! Okay. They're making out," Peter's voice rings throughout the living room.

You and Loki frantically pull away from each other, heat rising up to your cheeks.

"Shouldn't have come here at all," he mumbles under his breath. "I'll go now, guys. Sorry!" he says quickly, running out of the room.

"Make sure Tony doesn't know about this."
