A/N: It's been waaaay too long since I updated and I'm really sorry. I haven't had any time to write haha. Thanks for reading!

The day of your wedding is what's been on your mind for the past two weeks.

The small date Loki had arranged a week ago went so well, you're trying to think of a reason not to marry him. Aside from the fact that you've known him for two weeks? you ask yourself. The thought of losing your freedom because of a man is almost unacceptable.

"It's gonna be okay," Claire tells you, running a comforting hand through your hair as she styles it to perfection. "It's not like you don't like him, anyway," she continues, placing a hand on your shoulder.

"But I just... what if he decides that he doesn't like me? It's been two weeks, Claire, and he can easily change his mind."

"That's a fair point," she comments, making you groan.

"That doesn't exactly make me feel better, ya know?" you say jokingly. "I just don't want him to regret marrying me. That's pathetic," you explain, sighing in defeat. "It's even worse if he realizes that he's in it for good. He'll go out of his way just to get rid of me."

"Of course he won't do that. You might not know him, but you definitely know him well enough to know that he's not that type of person."

The alarm clock on your phone goes off, and soon you're already walking to the altar.

Everything is happening so quickly, your brain doesn't have time to catch up and process what's going on at all. All you know is that Loki is waiting for you at the altar, and you're screaming internally at how absolutely amazing he looks and how you'll be married to him in the next few minutes. Also, at how terrifying this is for you.

You're not used to this. You're used to having everything in control. This whole wedding is completely out of your control and it scares the hell out of you.

What if he doesn't say 'I do'? What if he does, but doesn't mean it? What if he does mean it, but changes his mind tomorrow?

You know you're not ready for this, not even the slightest bit. You thought you'd have more time, but that proves to not be the case as you're literally only a few steps away from being married to Loki.

"We are all gathered here today for the marriage of..."

You try your best to stay calm, even if it means shutting everything and everyone out, including the priest. When it comes to the vows, you've both agreed to say the one pre-written by your ancestors, knowing that if you were to get creative, the people wouldn't exactly be fond of it. They value tradition over anything else, after all.

The only thing you remember is Loki's blue eyes looking into yours, and somehow they calm the waves of panic brimming up inside you.

When the day is over, you find yourself curled up in a ball inside your room, praying that no one will find you, at least not in this state.

But of course, if your life isn't a series of unfortunate coincidences, is it even your life?

"Love? Are you in there?" you hear Loki call out from outside your door.

You quickly get to your feet, wiping off your tears and running to the bathroom to reduce the redness and puffiness in your eyes. He can't know you've been crying. He'll blame it on himself.

You open the door with a fake smile, inviting him in to reduce any sense of suspicion that he might have. Though, as if nothing could go right today, he notices the tears pooling in your eyes before you can blink them away.

He looks down guiltily. "I'm so sorry, love. I couldn't stop this from happening."

"I'm scared, Loki," you confess. "It's not about marrying you. I like you, okay? And I like you a lot..." you trail off, thinking about your next words and wiping away more tears. "I'm scared that you'll change your mind. I mean, not that we had a choice in the first place, but I don't want you to regret marrying me because I"

He wraps his arms around you and you instinctively melt into his embrace. "I'm not going to regret anything. I believe that the gods have put us here together for a reason, and honestly, I can't imagine regretting this at all," he says, intertwining your fingers with his, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. "Whatever you want me to do, I'll do it, okay? You're the one in control now, love. If you want me to leave you alone for a while, that's okay. If you want me to hold you, that's fine, too." He tilts your chin up so that your eyes meet his. "Whatever you want."

"You don't have to do all this," you say, your voice weak. You have no idea what's up with Loki and his stunning eyes and his warmth and his everything that make your heart skip a beat.

"I want to. Your comfort is what matters the most in this relationship, alright?"

"But what about yours? What if you're not comfortable with what I'm doing and all that?"

"Darling, I'll be okay," he answers easily. "I'll be okay as long as you are. We'll take things slow, yeah?"

You nod, burying your face into his chest. "Thank you."

"It's no problem," he replies.

You're both quiet for a while, just enjoying each others' company. You decide to tell him how you feel since there's really no point in hiding it anymore.

"Loki?"

"Hm?"

"I'm glad it's you."

He smiles, a little bit shyly, and asks, "Would you mind terribly if I kissed you?"
