When we think of a blind person, we thought that they are born with it but actually most developed blindness from childhood or in adulthood caused by a genetic disease, Retinitis Pigmentosa or Usher Syndrome. These diseases affect the retina, the back of the eye that detect lights and generates vision. The retina consists of different layers of cells and special neurons called Rod and Cone Photoreceptors. These Photoreceptors convert the entered light from the eyes into signals that the brain comprehends to create a vision.

A person with retinitis pigmentosa or Usher syndrome slowly loses photoreceptors until the retina is unable to detect light nor send signals to the brain, leading to complete blindness. However, scientists are relentlessly inventing new methods to cure blindness like biomimicking the master regenerator, ZebraFish.

Zebrafish have the ability to regrow back their skin, bones, heart, retina from damage. Scientists found a Muller glia, a long cell that transforms into versatile compatible stem cells that can replace the damaged photoreceptors. The Muller glia divide to produce stem cells that will eventually transform into new photoreceptors and travels to the back of the eye and restoring the lost receptors.

However, scientists are still figuring out how to trigger the Muller glia to generate new photoreceptors in human eyes. If they successfully trigger that cell and restore the vision of the blind people completely, then the cured patients can gladly watch porn and see nude photos.
