I walk back into the kitchen in a daze. Allison follows me closely but says nothing. The grunting coming from Greg's direction is the only thing I can hear and I think I'm about to lose the plot if I hear his voice one more time.

"Get out."

"Fucking bastard!" Greg grumbles noisily. "Let me go! He fucking deserved it! Don't you know who-"

"Shut up," Carlo snarls at him, pushing him further into the wall.

"Just get out!!!" I roar in Greg's direction, finally looking at him. "Get out of my house and never come back!"

Carlo doesn't waste time in removing Greg from my flat, Jones following him closely while putting his phone to his ear. Allison does a full three-sixty, watching her fiancé being dragged out without her, and gawks at me.

"Kaylee," she starts.

"You too," I whisper.

"Kaylee, I didn't think he'd do something like that. I'd never had-"

I reach my hands out and push her in the direction of the front door. "Just get out and don't bother showing up again, either."

"Bu-but I'm your best friend. We're like sisters." She stops dead and turns to look at me, a pleading looking her eyes. "You can't just throw me out our flat."

"It's my flat. Not yours." I glare at her. "If you were like my real sister, you wouldn't have brought him here. You wouldn't have allowed him to go off on one at Luca when you know all too well what his friend tried to do to me. You wouldn't be standing in front of me protecting him."

"Kaylee, I didn't-"

"I don't want to hear it!" I hold my hands up in defeat. "I'm done with your relationship with him. I'm done with playing nice towards him just for your sake. He's nothing but scum and I'm done."

I push past her and walk towards my bedroom. I get to as far as closing the blind at the window before hearing Allison's footsteps as she comes into my room.

"Kaylee, please don't do this."

I turn on the spot and look at her.

"Sorry, Allison, but at the end of the day, your man is an absolute fucking prick and I wouldn't even class him as a man. He's done nothing but cause us both agro since you got together. He's been trying to separate us and it's worked. If that's the kind of man you chose to stand with for the rest of your life, so be it but I won't be on your other side supporting you."

"Kaylee . . ." She takes a cautious step forward. "Wh-what are you saying?"

I fold my arms over my chest and take a deep, calming, breath. "I'm saying that if you stay with him, our friendship is done."

"So you're picking your boyfriend over our friendship?" She recoils with a frown appearing on her face. "You're picking Luca over me?"

"You did that with Greg!" I scream. "You picked him despite me telling you how nasty he is! You picked him over our friendship and I've tried being nice about it but him going after Luca tonight for no good reason was the last straw."

"Years of friendship . . . Years of heartache . . . Years of being there for each other just gone."

"All thanks to you."

"Kaylee, you're upset. You need time to cool off and get your mind in the right place." She turns to the side and points to the front door. "I'll go and give you that time and space."

"It doesn't matter." She looks back at me. "Nothing matters now." I nod towards the front door. "You know where the exit is."

Allison stares at me.
