Margaret is still in her nightgown. ( It's okay because she's a pet.) She is placed in a room alone with some clothes for her to change into when they get home. Margaret is so very glad to be trusted to dress herself! She is so happy to be out of that cage and have some privacy! It is so nice to be home.

After about five minutes her owner returns, but Margaret isn't quite ready.

As soon as her owner tries to open the door Margaret cries "No!" She wishes she knew more words in their language. She is bound determined she is going to learn more. Margaret somehow manages to keep the door closed until she is fully dressed. Her owner figured out what she meant when she said no.

Margaret is picked up and carried over to her highchair. She is fed pancakes for breakfast. Margaret doesn't know it, but Quigor has already eaten. The pet is so glad to be eating good tasting food again! She is so happy to be home!

Margaret listens very carefully in case her owner says anything. Maybe this way she will learn some words, she hopes. But Quigor just watches her and doesn't say much of anything. Margaret does ask for more to drink, and she is given more.

Then Margaret is taken out of the highchair when she is finished eating. Margaret starts pointing at objects hoping her owner will tell her their names. It doesn't work very well, unfortunately.

Margaret pointed to the highchair. This didn't work. Her owner said "No, Margaret", instead of telling her the name in their language.

Next Margaret pointed to the bowl of fruit. Quigor told her their word for "yummy", so now Margaret thinks "yummy" is the word for fruit. She repeats the word "yummy" and her owner hands her a piece of fruit. Margaret accepts the fruit and eats it. It is an orange. (The Nividians have planted a few orange trees they imported from Earth a while ago, so now it is easy for them to obtain oranges. The same goes for apple trees, bananas, and most other food plants from Earth. This makes it much easier to feed the pet humans.)

Margaret then points to the T.V. "No, Margaret," Quigor says.

This is getting very frustrating for Margaret. Margaret then points to a strange device her owner has.

"No, Margaret!" Quigor says, taking the device away from her.

Margaret is put in a pen for timeout. She doesn't even really understand why she's in there. She is left in the pen for half an hour before she is let out again. "Whatever that was it must be awfully important," Margaret thinks to herself.

Margaret is now very curious about the device. However, she will need to wait until her owner is not in the room before trying to reach it. Looking around, she finds that she can't even see the device anymore. Her owner apparently put it away somewhere while she was in timeout.

Margaret moves on to pointing to another unrecognizable strange looking object.

"No, Margaret!" Quigor says, picking her up and taking her to the room that is set up to resemble a human living room. Her owner carefully sets her down.

"Play, Margaret," Quigor says. Well, she isn't going to learn any new words this way. She wonders if she can pick up any new words by watching the T.V. (It has been programmed to be like the ones on Earth. The Nividians were able to record English programs, but they do not understand what anyone is saying on the recordings. English is very different from Nivish, as their language consists of many different pitched chirps and squeaks and some lower pitched sounds. It isn't easy for Margaret to imitate what they say, but she is trying to learn.)

Turning on the T.V., Margaret is surprised to discover that the programs are in English. This confuses her because the aliens don't speak English. There are only a few channels containing old programs and old commercials.

Margaret watches T.V. for a while, and then her owner comes and puts her collar and leash on her. Her owner then carefully picks her up and carries her outside.

Margaret is carefully set down on the ground. She stares hard at the strange buildings and wildlife. She is taken on a long walk to a part of the neighborhood she has never seen before. They enter one of the strange buildings. It contains many aliens.
