The spike retreated back into the ground and the mom fell lifeless.
I screamed in anger and my right arm burned.
Shadow walked in front of me and his eyes widened.
"What! Demons like you shouldn't fear a trapped person!" I shrieked.
He backed away from me.
Suddenly a burst of light shattered the trap. I grinned and charged at Shadow.
I jumped above him and as I came down on him I flicked my hand and created a sword of light.
Shadow extended his hand and a daek barrier stopped me from hitting him.
I started stabbing the barrier and noticed that it was cracking.
Right before it broke a spike shot at me. I shrieked as it went through my chest.
I closed my eyes and the sword disappeared.
Shadow disappeared along with his darkness.
I fell and clutched my chest. The pain was awful.
The world went black.
When I woke up I was in a bed. I sat up and winces as I felt the pain in my chest again.
The door swung open and I saw Sun holding the knob. Her cheeks glistened with tears.
She smiled and I felt my heart drop. Her mother died because of me and yet she still thinks of me as a friend.
I stood up, walked over to her, and hugged her. She was just a little shorter then me.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save your mom," I said as I felt tears start to form.
"I know you tried. She would've been happy to know that you saved the rest of us," She said into my shoulder.
